David Earl Maddux passed away on July 4, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
David was born in Westport, Indiana on April 3, 1939 to Stanley and Pearl Maddux. He attended Sandcreek High School where he excelled in sports and became a local star. He joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and faithfully served our country in this role for 23 years. In 1959 he married Linda Martin, his wife of 45 years, and together they raised 3 children, Terri, Mike, and Greg.
Upon completion of his air force career, he entered a second career in the gaming industry where he fondly adopted the name “Poker Dave” and enjoyed dealing poker for 20 years. It was here where he met Deborah Kivisels and later married on November 27, 2010. Deborah was faithfully at his bedside when he passed.
David enjoyed a happy and full life of working, baseball, golf, playing cards and in his latter years attending church at Central Chrisitan Church. He is missed.
David is preceded in death by his father and mother, Stanley and Pearl Maddux; two brothers, Bob and Joe Maddux; four sisters, Margaret McCullough, Rosemary Maddux, Lois Holzhause, and Rachel Brophy.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Maddux, his 3 children and their spouses; Terri and John Jackson, Mike and Lise Maddux, and Greg and Kathy Maddux; and their mother Linda Maddux; 6 grandchildren and one recent great grandson. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Harriet Cruser, Bonnie Sims and Barbara Faidley all originally from Westport, Indiana.
