To Our Loyal Customers, Past Employees, and Vendors,
Happy Holidays from the McMillan Family!
We hope this season finds you happy and healthy. For more than 85 years, we have been honored to serve you and help you celebrate life’s special occasions with our cakes, yule logs, cinnamon buns, and famous cream donuts—recipes passed down from our grandparents, the founders of McMillan’s Bakery.
We're writing because you may have seen recent news reports suggesting that McMillan's Bakery is "reopening" or "coming back" under new ownership in 2026. Those reports are false.
When we first saw these reports, we chose to address the matter directly and privately with the parties involved before making a public statement. We believe that was the right approach, and we appreciate the time it gave us to thoughtfully consider how to move forward.
While we sold the building at 15-17 Haddon Avenue, we did not sell the McMillan's name, our trademark, our recipes, or our goodwill. Those assets remain with our family.
McMillan's has always been a family business, founded by our grandparents George and Evelyn and carried forward by their children, grandchildren, cousins, spouses, aunts, and uncles. Our mother Arline was the heart of the bakery, and she made us promise to keep the McMillan's legacy in the family. When she passed, our family vowed to follow her wishes and we intend to honor that promise into the future.
We don't have specific plans to announce today, but we want to emphasize that the McMillan's name, recipes, and legacy remain with our family. We understand the new owner of 15-17 Haddon Avenue plans to open a bakery under a different name. We wish them the best of luck in their new venture.
Thank you for being part of our bakery family all these years. We're grateful for the memories. Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season.
