This Christmas was my first time making Royal iced cookies (for my family)! My only hope was that they wouldn’t look like a 3rd grader made them (no offense to 3rd graders!). I think they turned out cute for a first time (well most did anyway), but as a professional baker, I have much respect for those folks that do these incredibly well! I’ll keep practicing though because they were fun to make!🎄

Happy Thanksgiving friends! I hope you all have a great day celebrating with your families! I am so thankful for Dean’s and my families and all of our friends, including those I made through baking! And big hugs to my friends grieving the loss of a loved one- the holidays can be rough, and you’re in my thoughts. 🦃❤️

With mixed emotions, we finally listed my mom’s house for sale. Mom was a little bit of a hoarder (and by a little I mean a lot!) so it took most every weekend for 8+ months to clear things out. And fix it up. A special thanks to Rachel who did so much to get us to this point! She kept me going even when I didn’t feel up to it. And thanks also to Dean for helping us with whatever we asked of him, and putting up with us during the ups and downs of cleaning out a packed house full of memories. I know mom is proud of us!

Even though I have placed my baking business on hold, there is one day a year that I get excited to put my apron back on, and that is for this very special lady right here. Lauren, I am so honored to be your Granny’s birthday cake maker- she is amazing at 101!! 🥰🎂🎉

Mom had her final blessing and goodbyes on Friday. It was an emotional and overwhelmingly wonderful show of family and friends - mom would have been touched to see every face there for her (and us). Rachel delivered a eulogy we won’t soon forget- I’m so proud of her. St. John Westminster really gave mom a beautiful send off, and Liberatore's Westminster set up a very nice lunch for us to celebrate my mom. Flowers by Evelyn your flower arrangement was perfect, and thank you for the 12 red roses too! It’s still hard to believe all of this, but for mom, Rachel and I will live our best lives to honor her. We love you so much mom! ❤️

Friday, 9/29/23, you passed away peacefully and gained your angel wings. It happened so quickly and unexpectedly that I am still trying to absorb you are gone. How does someone say goodbye to the only parent they have known? My biggest cheerleader, my hero. Our world will never be the same without you in it. I know time will help with the hurt, and Rachel and I have the most amazing support with Dean, and the best family and friends, but for this moment, I am completely broken. I love you so much mom, you will forever be with us in spirit, and I am so lucky for the many memories we shared. 🙏❤️

Hi Everyone! For the first time in 5 years I decided to take “off” from baking this Christmas (and pretty much the month of December!) I’ll miss baking for all of you, but I’ve been enjoying the time with family. Here are a few pics of Christmas treats over the years!
