This Mid-Autumn Festival, 1983 Bakery had the wonderful opportunity to return to the City of Irvine, California, and once again be part of a beautiful celebration that brought together families and communities from Irvine and the surrounding areas.

It was truly meaningful for us to celebrate this special tradition with all of you and to share our handcrafted mooncakes — each one made with care and carrying the timeless wishes of togetherness, completeness, and family reunion.

Meet the “Moon Goddess” of 1983 Bakery! 🌕✨

A heartfelt thank-you to my dear big sis, who has supported us year after year—always ordering not just one or two, but boxes and boxes of our mooncakes every Mid-Autumn season. 🥮❤️

I’ve been her fanboy for years because of her music, so it makes me extra happy knowing that she’s now a fan of my mooncakes too. How lucky am I? 🥹

And here’s the part that means the most to me…

She has never accepted a penny for promoting 1983 Bakery—and she won’t even let me give her the mooncakes for free. Every single year, she insists on paying for every box she orders.

Whenever I tell her, “They’re from my bakery—just take them!” she always says, “You still have employees to pay.” And before I know it, she’s already pushed the money into my hands. 😂

It’s such a simple gesture, but it says so much about the kind of person she is. That genuine love and support means more to this little bakery—and to this little brother—than she probably knows.

✨ FROM AN IDEA… TO A STORY YOU CAN HOLD. 🌕✏️🎁

Every Mid-Autumn season begins for us long before the first mooncake is baked.

It begins with an idea.
A blank piece of paper.
A few pencil lines.
And a story we want to tell.

For our 2026 Mooncake Collection, we looked back to one of the most beloved Vietnamese childhood legends—the story of Chú Cuội, Chị Hằng and the magical moonlit world of Tết Trung Thu.

From the very first hand-drawn sketch, each detail slowly came to life: Chị Hằng resting among the clouds, Chú Cuội beneath the ancient tree, the glowing full moon, and the dreamy colors of a night that feels somewhere between memory and imagination.

That original sketch eventually became the artwork for our Đêm Trăng Cổ Tích – Enchanted Moon Night collection. 🌙

And from artwork… came the box.

Every color, illustration, ribbon and little detail was thoughtfully brought together to create packaging that isn’t simply meant to hold mooncakes—but to become part of the gift itself.
