Schneider's Bakery began when brothers Carl and Floyd Schneider created their delicious baked goods from the basement of a grocery store on South State Street, across the street from Schneider's current location. After brother Carl developed an allergy to flour, Floyd and his wife, Jane became the soul owners of Schneider's Bakery. In 1957 Floyd moved the bakery to it's current location at 6 South
State Street where the delicious baked goods have been enjoyed by the citizens of Westerville and it's surrounding communities for almost six decades. In 1974, Jeff Hamler began working at Schneider's doing "clean up". Enjoying the work, he moved onto production and quickly learned the craft of baking. Jeff decided to make his career in baking, and enrolled in the American Institute of Baking at Kansas State University. Upon graduation in 1978, Jeff returned to Westerville and began his professional baking career at Schneider's. Schneider gave Jeff and his wife Debbie the opportunity to purchase the bakery upon Mr. Schneider's retirement. They became the new, owners of Schneider's Bakery on January 1, 1987. In the years that followed, Jeff and Debbie continued to produce the time honored recipes that Floyd Schneider began in the 1950's. Much of the the current day products are exactly as the first customers remember from almost 60 years ago! In 2017 Shaun and Manuela Stonerook bought the Bakery and are continuing the Schneider’s legacy. Not much has change other than taking credit cards. Schneider's Bakery continues to deliver the highest quality products at the lowest possible price to its customers. Our products are made by hand each day in order to be delivered fresh to you. Service to the Westerville community is a top priority making the bakery a favorite place to meet friends and neighbors and reminisce about our treasured past.
