Just devouring my leftover homemade palmiers filled with sugar and freeze-dried strawberries, half dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with strawberry powder Mmmm... I’m so glad I had these left over! I always try to make a few extra for “taste testing” purposes, hehe. These aren’t decorated like the orders are, but honestly, I didn’t care - I just knew I was going to eat them anyway. You have got to try these, they’re SO good! treats

Just found an old pic of my first-ever fondant covered cake! I made it for a female soldier being deployed, and she wanted a mix of military and girly themes. The details were tiny - the lipstick on the rifle was literally matchstick-head sized! To give you some scale, the top tier is only 6 inches in diameter, and the decorations on top are proportionally small. Everyone loved it!

Cookie confession! I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies today, and I sneaked 4 special ones with bacon for myself . They’re the ones circled in red - hidden in plain sight! Today’s a sweet day! I’m taking some time out to bake a batch of our family’s favorite chocolate chip cookies. It’s not often I get to spoil them with a fresh batch, so I’m making the most of it. There’s something special about baking for the people you love. What do you do special for your family when you get the chance? Share with me in the comments below! Bake time is 9-11 minutes, depending on your oven.

Confession time: Excuse me, but I couldn’t help taking a bite before I took the picture... and let’s just say they’re perfect warm and gooey!

Update: Using the 1.5 oz cookie dough balls, I ended up with 32 cookies! I also baked mine with a slightly more golden brown top than usual - yum! One more tip: don’t flatten the dough balls when you place them on the cookie sheet, just leave them as is and they’ll retain their shape perfectly!
