It is with a broken heart, I make this announcement
Unfortunately after 12 years of being in business,
Divine Cake Design must close.
As you all know from my last post, I was involved in a car accident May 28th 2021. I had injured my right hand, wrist and fingers.
I thought after therapy we would be ready to roll again, but sadly under all my doctors and specialist orders, if I were continue to design cakes and sweet tables and put added pressure it will cause more damage then what I already have. After months and months of therapy and treatments the damage to my ligaments and tendons are permanent which is causing me to not be able to bend my fingers completely to do detailed work or lift anything heavy.
We thought going through Covid would have destroyed us but we survived through that.
When I started out, I was just looking at it as a hobby. My son purchased me cake design/baking classes because I loved to bake! Cake designing for some reason came natural to me, but never in my wildest dreams did I think it would turn into such a thriving business.
Being a single woman barely making ends meet I literally started with nothing. Every week when I got paid from my office position I would buy a few supplies here and there, and before I knew it, everything I bought myself was baking related. Between referrals, family, facebook and a website that My son Bill created for me, we took off and took off in a huge way.
I do have to give a huge and grateful Thank you to my son Bill for always being there for me no matter what I needed, whether it was running for last minute supplies to stacking cakes and down to decorating right alongside me. It was such a great time for us to be able to work together, it’s something I will cherish the rest of my life. Through all the laughs, tears and stress of getting 10 or more cakes, wedding cakes and sweet tables done a week, even down to making deliveries for me, we fought tirelessly to hit every deadline. Bill I could never explain or put into words what this time working together has meant to me. I Love you more than words can say.
I also need to thank my cousin Harriet Costabile for the times you helped with deliveries and set-ups, I will always be grateful, love you cousin, and of course my delivery girl and friend Lori Taylor for being so dependable.
I would love to thank each and every one of you for your loyalty and support through all these years, I couldn’t have done this without all of you. I will truly miss seeing all of you! I have been so blessed with amazing customers. I love all of you!! Thank you for letting my passion and dream come true and for letting us be a part of all your special occasions.
