Valley Region, we are surrounded by organic farms, beautiful views, and warm people who have supported this idea before we were even sure it was an idea. The married bakers Joyce Quarnstrom and Gordon Vande Voorde hail from South Dakota, but transplanted themselves to Westby over 20 years ago. Both are heavily influenced by the traditional baking of their mothers and fathers - German, Scandinavian, and Belgian recipes are those most often seen in the bakery. Their daughter, Emma, does try to bring some modernity to the business with design influence and a few trips to London, Norway, and Germany to bring back more recipes. A family-run business that has been featured locally and nationally (La Crosse Tribune, Westby Times, Edible Madison, Norwegian American Magazine), we also supply other local businesses with baked goods.
