🌸 Love is Blooming 🌸

Classic, timeless, and just a little romantic. 🩷🩵

These elegant bridal shower cookies were created especially for a bride-to-be 💍, who was celebrated by her family and friends as she gets ready for her upcoming wedding!

Soft white and blush pink roses paired with periwinkle blue hydrangeas made for such a beautiful, delicate color palette. Sometimes the simplest designs really do say the most.

Thank you, DaLena, for your order and supporting BCC. I hope the cookies added a little extra sweetness to the celebration 💍🌸!

Baby-Q, but make it cookies! 🌭🔥👶

This sweet little baby shower set was SO much fun to create. From the baby bib with the hot dog 🌭 and the timeless Weber grill to the BBQ apron onesies with a grilling tool, ketchup and mustard, every cookie got its own little backyard BBQ moment. ❤️

Such a fun and adorable theme to celebrate a little one!

Thank you so much, Emily, for choosing Biker Chic Cupcakes! I hope these cookies added a little extra sweetness to the celebration!

Hey there, BCC friends! 👋💕

I know. It’s been a hot minute...

You may have been wondering… Where did she go? Is she even baking anymore? Did she abandon her kitchen and run away to a tropical island? 😂

I’m here. And YES, I’m still creating!

I’ve been busy learning the ropes of my new full-time job, and putting my energy into learning as much as I can and getting my feet under me has been the priority. I'm absolutely LOVING my new role!

However, I’ve still been filling my creative bucket in the evenings and on weekends when I can. Cookies are still being decorated, cakes are still being frosted, and cupcakes are being baked!

What I have been majorly slacking on is the whole “take pictures, edit pictures, write a caption, remember hashtags, actually POST the thing” portion of the program. 🤦‍♀️

So, to everyone who has ordered from me over the past month and a half, please know I absolutely LOVED creating for you. I just ran out of time to take the pics and post them before you picked up your order.

That changes this week! I’ll be sharing a couple of projects I created recently, along with some others I’ve been meaning to show you.

And don’t wander too far because BCC isn’t disappearing. I’m just creating a little less and juggling a little more these days.

PLUS… I officially set the date for my Halloween Sugar Cookie Decorating Class! 🎃👻🍪 I’ll be announcing all the details in September, including the cookie designs, and I’m already excited about this one.

So yes, I’m still here.

Yes, I’m still baking.

Thanks for sticking around and continuing to support Biker Chic Cupcakes. It means more than you know. 🩷

I started Biker Chic Cupcakes during the pandemic, six years ago, and one of the sweetest parts of this journey has been creating birthday cakes for the same kiddos year after year.

This past weekend, Otto celebrated his fifth birthday with a High Five-themed party, which means I’ve now had the honor of creating five birthday cakes for him!

His mom, Sandy, asked me to design a cake that coordinated with the colorful High Five party decor she had chosen. Otto requested strawberry, so his cake was a 6-inch, two-layer strawberry cake frosted with vanilla buttercream.

Since not everyone in the family is a fan of strawberry cake 😉, I also made a dozen vanilla funfetti cupcakes topped with primary-colored sprinkles.

To bring the theme to life, I hand-colored fondant and cut out hands, the number five, and colorful paint splats to decorate the sides of the cake. I also hand-placed individual sprinkles around the cake to match the cupcakes and finished everything with a custom cake topper.

Thank you, Sandy, for trusting me year after year to create something special and unique for Otto. Being part of these family celebrations is truly one of my favorite parts of what I do ❣️

Happy High Five Birthday, Otto! ✋🎉

This cookie is so gorgeous it deserved its own post!

One of the things I really wanted to focus on at CookieCon this year was pressure piping, detail work, and florals, and this class wrapped all of that into one beautiful cookie set!

Sweet Stitches, taught by Murrah and Maya from Burnt Cookies by Murrah and Painted Ladies Pastry, was all about creating this cross-stitch hoop with thread, scissors, and so many tiny details.

So many textures.
So many techniques.

And yes, we even brought out the paint brushes to paint the hoop screw. I may have also gotten a little extra and painted the tips of the petals gold, because apparently I can’t be trusted near edible paint. ✨

Huge thank you to Murrah and Maya for such a fun, informative, and beautifully organized class.

Four hours of cookie decorating somehow felt like 25 minutes, which is always the sign of a really good class.

💕 Absolutely loved this one 💕

A little BCC update 💕

Things are shifting a bit over here, but Biker Chic Cupcakes is NOT going anywhere.

I recently started a new full-time role back in the healthcare/mental health space, which I’m so excited to be back in. Because of this, BCC will be moving back into more of a creative outlet and side hustle instead of a full-time operation.

What does this mean?

It means I’ll still be taking custom cookie, cake, and cupcake orders, but I’ll be taking on fewer orders, so if you have a birthday, wedding, shower, corporate event, graduation, or any special occasion coming up, please reach out early as I won’t be able to accommodate last-minute orders or squeeze-ins as I have in the past.

I’m so grateful for everyone who has supported BCC since 2020 (over SIX years ago; can you believe that??) ordered from me, taken a class, shared a post, referred a friend, or trusted me with the special moments in your life.

This baking hobby turned business has grown in ways I never expected, and I’m not done creating; not even close.

I'm just shifting gears. 🏍️🧁

Hey everyone! If you didn’t see my stories this week, you may have wondered, “Where did Kristin go?”

Well, I was in Orlando, Florida this past week for CookieCon!

You might be asking, “Um… what?” Yeah, same. That was basically my reaction the first time I heard about it too. But CookieCon is a convention for cookie creatives, from beginner decorators to insanely talented advanced cookie artists; offering classes from decorating, to growing your skills using Procreate (which I took), to teaching classes, to working with different mediums, etc. The list goes ON and ON 😊.

My first CookieCon was in Austin, Texas two years ago, and honestly, the amount of information I picked up at that conference changed the trajectory of my business; not only my decorated cookies, but my sugar cookie decorating classes too.

This year, I focused on taking classes for freehand lettering, pressure piping, Procreate, creating beautiful frosting florals, and working with fondant accents. Yes, just the accents, because we all know how I feel about the taste and texture of fondant.

Ick.

But it sure can be pretty and give cookies that extra WOW factor 🤩!

One of my favorite things about CookieCon is the community. It is so supportive, welcoming, and creative. You can’t walk down a hallway in the convention area without someone smiling or asking, “Where are you from?” Oh and another thing this amazing community did this past week .... they got me over the hump and I'm now over 3000 followers on my business page! So, THANK YOU❣️

My creative cup is officially full, and I’m so excited to bring some of the things I learned in Florida into future orders and classes.

Here are a few highlights from my trip. And yes, when the nature trail sign says to watch out for gators and snakes, you do the smart thing: turn around and run laps around the hotel and parking lot instead. 😉

So, if you haven’t figured it out by now, I do in fact have a couple of motorcycles that I love to ride. Hence the name, Biker Chic Cupcakes.

Anyway, this is your friendly reminder to please... please... PLEASE put the damn phone down.

I was riding my sport bike last night to and from boxing class, and when I ride, I am hypervigilant. Almost to the extreme. As I was waiting to turn onto the last road to get me home, I noticed a larger SUV barreling up to the light and I had a bad feeling...

I’m also one of those people who waits at least 2–3 seconds after the light turns green before pulling out onto the road.

So I pulled up a bit, waited ...and yep. Just like I suspected, she blasted right through the red light.

And then, at that exact moment, she looked up at me from HER PHONE and quickly put it down.

Too late.

I could have been seriously injured or killed.

I know riding motorcycles is a dangerous hobby. I know that. But I have every right to be on the road just like anyone else.

I also know not everyone is going to put their phone down. But if you absolutely have to touch it, please do it when you are safely stopped. Not while your vehicle is moving. Not while approaching an intersection. Not while someone else’s life depends on you paying attention.

My goal is to live to be super old, wrinkled, and just the right amount of crotchety, so please don’t let your phone be the reason I don’t get there.

Nobody’s email, text message, or phone call is important enough to permanently injure, paralyze, or kill someone.

Please be aware. Please look twice.

PLEASE PUT THE PHONE DOWN.

Ferris wheels 🎡, pigs 🐷, popcorn 🍿, and more!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined me for the Blue Ribbon Cookie Workshop: County Fair Edition at Iowa Distilling Company! Such a fun group: engaged, attentive, and creative!

I loved seeing everyone’s cookies come to life, from the fair-inspired details to all the little personal touches that made each set completely unique. These classes are always so much fun for me, but it's the students who make the whole night even better!

Thank you again to Iowa Distilling Company for hosting us and giving us such a great space to decorate, laugh, sip, and create.

I'll be taking a couple of months off from teaching, however scheduled cookie classes will be picking back up this fall, so stay tuned! You can keep an eye on my website for upcoming dates and even sign up to be on the BCC mailing list so you can be one of the first to know when new classes are announced.

Can’t wait to decorate with you again soon. 💕
