The April 18 meeting of the BRC of WPB featured a special presentation by our own Gregg Daniel, owner of Beach Environmental here in West Palm Beach. Gregg treated members to a "show and tell" explaining how various pests were handled in ridding residential, commercial, and governmental facilities of creatures like sparrows, raccoons, and bats.
Gregg reviewed several types of devices like fabric netting, spiked plates, and snare loops that Beach Environmental employs. He explained that some of these nuisance removal contracts can be quite expensive for the facility owners.
Gregg also related a rather humorous story about his youthful experience many years ago when he, his father, and their favorite pooch were canoeing down one of South Florida's numerous canals when they came upon a raccoon. Dad, being the naturalist that he still is, quickly lassoed the playful creature who swam over and into the canoe. By the time all was over between dog and raccoon, all occupants of the boat were in the water. Gregg verified this with a live telephone interview with his Dad for the benefit of all attendees. Thanks Gregg for an entertaining and informative presentation.
