Apparently, my sourdough starters did NOT understand the assignment this weekend. 🤣🥖

I said:
✨ Minimal bake
✨ Family time
✨ Just a couple loaves

They heard:
🔥 Double in size
🔥 Take over the kitchen
🔥 Convince Mom to make more bread

These ladies are bubbly, active, and clearly choosing violence today. Just look at that rise! 👀

After months of feeding, learning, tweaking, and plenty of patience, there’s nothing better than seeing a starter this happy and healthy. Every loaf starts right here, and these girls are ready to get to work whether I planned on it or not. 😂

Now the real question is…

Do I stick to my plan and make just two loaves?

Or do I listen to the starter? 🤔🤣

Good morning, friends!

Our starters are up and working for this weekend’s limited bake… although it’s pretty clear they didn’t get the memo. 🤣

While we’re keeping this weekend’s bake small so we can enjoy some family time, our starter seems determined to remind us who’s really in charge around here.

There’s something special about watching flour, water, and a little patience come to life. Every bubble, every rise, and every loaf is part of the process we love so much.

✨ A Huge Thank You ✨

Next weekend was supposed to be a very limited bake while we take some time to enjoy family, make memories, and head to a concert.

Before we even had the chance to officially post the menu… every loaf was spoken for.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting my little dream. What started as flour, water, and a whole lot of love has grown into something I never imagined.

Because of your support, we’ll be taking next weekend to recharge, enjoy some family time, and come back ready for the next bake.

POV: You started making sourdough “for fun” and now you’re standing in your kitchen admiring loaf after loaf like they’re your children. 🤣🥖

This weekend’s lineup was one of those bakes that reminds me why I am doing this.

✨ Beautiful crusts
✨ Gorgeous scoring
✨ A croissant loaf crumb that made me do a happy dance
✨ Blueberry goodness bursting through the crust
✨ And a strawberry rhubarb white chocolate loaf made with a little extra love ❤️

Not every loaf is perfect, but every loaf is made with love, patience, and a starter that apparently chooses violence on a regular basis. 😂

A few months ago I was learning, troubleshooting, and hoping for the best. Now I’m creating loaves that make me stop and stare before I can even cut into them.

The croissant loaf had me smiling.

The blueberry loaf had me dreaming about this summer.

And that heart-scored strawberry rhubarb white chocolate loaf? Well… some loaves are just a little more special than others. 🥰❤️🥖

I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone supporting Rise Above Bakery as I continue to learn, grow, and create.

Now excuse me while I stare at these loaves a little longer before they leave my kitchen. ❤️

🥯🍞 What a day in the Rise Above Bakery!

Today’s lineup included bagels, a classic sourdough, pepperoni mozzarella, s’mores loaves, and a strawberry chocolate chip loaf—and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. ❤️

Some days everything just comes together. The starters were working overtime, the dough was beautiful, and the oven spring on these loaves had me smiling all day long.

It’s moments like this that remind me how far this journey has come. Every loaf teaches me something, and seeing consistent results like these makes all the early mornings, flour-covered counters, and learning curves worth it.

But the day isn’t over yet… 👀

After months of waiting for the right time, I finally have a croissant loaf in bulk fermentation. I’ve been holding off until I felt ready to give it the best chance of success.

Now we wait. 🤣🥐

Stay tuned because I have a feeling this one might be something special.

Starters are up, bubbly, and hard at work… which means another fresh bake day is underway! 🍞🔥
The kitchen is waking up, the starters are coming together, and the dough will be getting mixed up before long.

There’s just something magical about the quiet start of a bake day — coffee brewing, flour flying, and the smell of sourdough filling the house. ♥️
