Big changes will be occurring for me personally, and for Belladore, in the coming weeks. I recently accepted a position as a preschool teacher in my hometown school district, and while I’m really excited for this next chapter, it means that I need to put Belladore on hold beginning in early August. I have the absolute best customers in the world, and have met so many amazing people doing this work. I have loved creating this thing that feels so precious to me. There are many tough realities of being a small business owner, and to be completely honest, I fluctuate between feeling pride and like a failure, freedom and feeling caged in. It’s an emotional roller coater - but every time I see you all show up at a market, place a special order, or tell me you haven’t had a cinnamon roll in 15 years and seeing your reaction as you take your first bite - well, it’s hard to feel like this has been anything other than a success. Spreading joy and creating accessible baked goods has always been my mission. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making my dream a reality for the past 5 years. For now I must pause and shift focus, but stay tuned for what may come next for Belladore. It’s possible you’ll see us pop up here and there!
In the meantime, I’ll see you at the Montpelier and Burlington Farmers Markets through August 9th!
