✨️Humbled.✨️
That’s the word that keeps coming to mind as we reflect on our 1st Annual Cruller Day.
As a fourth-generation family business, we’ve always believed that crullers are something special. We know there are plenty of cruller lovers out there, but the response from our community today exceeded anything we could have imagined.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Thank you for supporting a local family business. Thank you for standing in line, sharing our posts, bringing your friends and family, and making today one of the most memorable days in Grebe’s history. Most importantly, thank you for continuing to show up for the simple things that somehow become the biggest moments.
We also want to recognize our incredible team. They arrived early, worked tirelessly, rolled with every surprise the day threw at them, and kept producing crullers as fast as humanly possible. Today simply would not have happened without their dedication, hard work, and pride in what they do.
To those who came looking for crullers and found a sold-out case instead, please accept our sincere apologies. We truly did our best to keep up with demand—but as they say, you can’t rush perfection.
The good news? Selling out multiple times throughout the day showed us just how much this community loves crullers, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
When we planned Cruller Day, we expected a great turnout. What we didn't expect was what can only be described as a full-scale cruller craze. You showed up early. You showed up often. Some of you even came back after we sold out. More than once.
At one point, we were pretty sure every cruller fan in Wisconsin had received the same group text.
But what made today truly special wasn't just the number of crullers sold—it was the people.
We saw longtime customers who have been visiting Grebe's for decades. We met first-time visitors who had heard about Cruller Day from friends and family. We watched neighbors chatting in line, families sharing stories, and people introducing someone new to their favorite bakery tradition.
That's what a neighborhood bakery is all about.
For nearly 90 years, this community has allowed our family to do what we love. Days like today remind us that while we may make the crullers, it's the people who make Grebe's special. Your support, loyalty, and enthusiasm mean more to us than we can properly express in a Facebook post.
We're already talking about how to make next year's Cruller Day even bigger and better. And who knows... maybe we won't wait that long. Did somebody say ? 😉
Thank you for making our first Cruller Day one we'll never forget.
With sincere gratitude,
Brandon & Colton Grebe
