Bubbles and baby are off to their new home! š„¹ā¤ļø
Thereās always something bittersweet about building a relationship and bond with an animal you know was never meant to stay forever.
She was always so hesitant and skittish with me, and honestly, I didnāt take the time I should have to really get to know her while she was pregnant. Her due date snuck up on me, I hadnāt put her in the stanchion even once, and thenāBOOM. There was a baby on the ground. š
I thought milking her was going to be a complete disaster, but from that very first milking, she surprised the heck out of me. She stood well. Never kicked or pranced. And by day four, she had already learned how to walk into and back out of the stanchion completely unprompted.
Somewhere along the way, she and I ended up learning to trust each other and formed a pretty sweet little bond. ā¤ļø
If life wasnāt hitting us quite so hard at the moment, she wouldāve been the one to keep.
I hope she spends her days getting absolutely spoiled rotten. And sheās only 35 minutes away, and I was told I can come see her anytime I want⦠so thereās that. š
Not goodbye forever, just goodbye for now. šā¤ļø
