It's amazing to me how God uses every aspect of our lives to reveal himself and his truth to us. It was 11PM and I was making the finishing touches on this cake for a great customer. Pick up time was the next morning at 10AM so I was feeling pretty comfortable. But as I reviewed the order, I realized I made the kind of mistake that is not easily fixed. I was in full panic mode by the time I reached out to my husband. He was able to point out some solutions to me that I couldn't see through my clouded judgement. In the end I was able to present a product that I was proud of. I often find myself in the midst of chaos, and yet my pride and fears prevent me from reaching out to God and others. But how glad I am that this time I allowed the Lord to use my husband to minister to me.

Reminiscing about this blast from my past. I don't know what it is about wedding and anniversary cakes I love so much. They are definitely quite beautiful. But that can't be all? 🤔 Maybe it's because the process of making these cakes is much like the process of forming and maintaining relationships. They are a lot of work. A LOT! It takes planning, careful preparation, attention to detail, and repairing the seemingly inavoidable mistakes along the way. They require fearlessness to begin the task, and countless hours of learning and being humbled to complete. Yet when done well, they ought to taste as fantastic as they look.
