Proud Mama Moment

I honestly can’t believe my firstborn is almost 20 in a few months. 🥹 He’s almost finished with his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and now he’s taking on a whole new challenge as he works toward becoming an Air Force Officer.

Following in his mom and dad’s footsteps of serving our country, but in his own way and on his own path. 🇺🇸

What makes this journey even more incredible is that Andrew is coming into AFROTC later than most cadets. Instead of having several semesters to prepare, prove himself, and compete for selection, he has ONE semester to put it all on the line. That means he has a lot of ground to make up in a very short amount of time, and he is working HARD for this opportunity. Please say a prayer for him. 🙏🏼

Watching my son put on that uniform and prepare himself to become a leader in the world’s greatest Air Force is something I don’t even have the words to describe. I am beyond proud of the young man he has become and the man he is working so hard to become.

More than anything, we are praying that God leads him exactly where He wants him to go. And if becoming an Air Force Officer is the path God has destined for Andrew, I pray He opens every door that needs to be opened and gives Andrew the strength, wisdom, discipline, and perseverance to walk through it.

Whatever happens, he already makes his mama incredibly proud.

Go get it, Andrew. Your mom and dad are behind you every step of the way. 🇺🇸❤️

I can’t thank Joe and Michelle enough for their help in making this happen, encouraging him, guiding him and leading him on this path. The confidence you put in him, Joe I’m so grateful you were there for him. Thank you! 🙏🏼🫶🏼 we love y’all!

This makes me so sad. 😭 we could all use a little kindness, encouragement and love in our lives. Dolly was such an inspiration and amazing human being. Her compassion, kindness, generosity and empathy is what drove me to want to help those in need when I was little. Her music takes me back to some of the most precious times in my childhood that I had once forgotten. Singing with my daddy on the tractor to her music, Elvis, George strait, George jones, CCR… 😭

I hear her music and it takes me right back to that exact moment and joy swells up in my heart. She will be greatly missed. There will never be another like Dolly. May she rest in peace, completely healed joined with those who loved her most in heaven with Jesus. 🙏🏼🫶🏼 my condolences to all who loved her and whose lives she touched as well.

Next to my daddy, Kurt kobain, and Michael Jackson dyin, I’m so sad. 😞

I missed this smell….this feeling! 😍🤗

When your tiny maranitos came out perfect and your co**ha and cuernito dough rose to perfection!!

Can’t wait for these teacher’s , admin and babies to be blessed by what we’ve made for them! 🫶🏼🙏🏼 And the kindness these parents and friends are showing them makes my heart even happier! 🤍

There are some moments where you can’t help but see God’s hand in the details. 🥹🤍

When we temporarily shut down, we knew that getting the commercial equipment we needed was going to be a BIG investment. We diligently searched for equipment, but quickly realized that the things I was looking for were NOT cheap. So I started praying and trusting that if this was the direction we were supposed to go, God would provide what we needed.

Then I found an oven on Marketplace. 🙌🏼 I looked to see if I had enough from what I had saved and allotted for equipment And realized I was short. I told myself, It’s ok.. we’ll keep lookin. I went to reply to a message on messenger only to realize that a dear sweet friend of mine had sent me a gift to do with as I needed for my shop. She stated her husband was a culinary chef and would’ve loved helping another baker get started. 😭😭 I cried… it was the exact amount I needed to purchase that oven!! I was floored. She has been a rock to me when I was going through it and even when she had things of her own to deal with she was still there for me too. I’m so grateful for her friendship. Sharon, you truly are a God send and I’ll forever remember the encouragement and support you’ve given me 🫶🏼

sadly the person ended up selling the oven from underneath me so my quest to find another is still in progress. After that happened I didn’t panic, I knew God had me and I’ll find another.

I continued looking for other equipment and just when I thought we were going to have to piece everything together little by little, which would take us longer to open back up, we went to our yearly family get together and Brian’s sister and her boyfriend told us they had accumulated some equipment and blessed us with almost everything we need! 😭❤️ look at God! 🙌🏼 if that’s not confirmation enough for me that we’re meant to do this I don’t know what is.

I’m so incredibly grateful. What felt overwhelming at first is starting to come together in ways I couldn’t have planned myself.

Now we’re ready to begin the renovation of our commercial kitchen! 🛠️👩🏻‍🍳

If my body cooperates and doesn’t decide to crash out on me like it did this past week 😂, we’re hoping to have the renovation finished within the next couple of weeks. Then comes the next BIG step applying for our commercial license and FDA license! 🙏🏼

This little dream has taken some unexpected turns, but we’re still moving forward. One step, one prayer, and one blessing at a time.

Worthy Grounds Panadería is getting ready for its next chapter. 🤍

And I truly believe the best is yet to come. 🥹✨

After taking these back to school treat box orders I’ve realized how much I really do miss baking and serving yall. 🫶🏼

Brian and I shared the 3 meat platter and their cheesy corn was AMAZING!! 😍 great service, they were so nice and their shop is my dream shop!! 😍🤍🤗 Lil Miss Smokin Jones BBQ try it next time yall are at the lake!

No way!! What do yall think?
Will they really have an ice cream shop that originated in Canada, and only a few shops in the US? “The chain has very few locations in the United States, mostly operating in states like Florida (e.g., Gainesville, Winter Park, and St. Petersburg), New York, and California.” But bringing it here to little ole Waynesville of all places?

And the Mexican grill? Another food chain? Looks like another chipotle dupe? (I mean this in the nicest way. lol no other name to call it.)

I wonder where they’ll be operating in town. 🧐🤔

Maybe because the mother road is all the rage right now and everyone wants a place on it? 😳

Yall! 😭 Today was such a humbling experience. Seeing the smiles on some of those babies faces, children picking out their own clothes, trying on shoes, and feeling excited about this new school year… there’s no words!! Between holding back my tears watching Karisa and my boys’ serve the children and families with eagerness and heart made my mama heart so damn proud.

There were sooo many families blessed by all who gave and I only wished yall could’ve seen what we saw. Yall would be crying too. We could not have done this without yalI. I didn’t get but 3 photos through the whole event but it was enough for me to have to say… thank you to all who donated clothes, shoes, backpacks, money for toiletry bags. We were able to serve 24 children with these bags, but yall helped serve so much more than that with y’all’s clothing donations.

I’ll never forget this experience. And I’ll never forget the encouragement and support many of you gave me along the way. Thank you all so much! 🙏🏼

This community is blessed. Pastor Susan, my heart is overwhelmed by your generosity and love you and your church family (Still Useable Ministries Church) have shown us. For allowing us to be a part of this amazing outreach.

22 years of leading this event so our babies can feel loved on before they start the school year is incredible. All the vendors and sponsors for their generosity and time.

We left this morning with 2 suvs, a pickup, and a car packed to the brim ..returned home with a few boxes of clothes and a few bags of shoes. 🙌🏼🫶🏼

I’ll never forget the words “ little is much when God is in it.”
