Some recipes become family favorites… and this Banoffee Pie is definitely one of ours! 🍌🥧

My niece (April Mackenzie Reese) absolutely LOVES this pie and requests it often. In fact, when we have a family gathering, I usually have to make two—one for everyone to share and one just for her to take home! 😂🤎

It’s sweet, creamy, full of banana and rich toffee flavor, and so simple to make. This is one of those easy desserts that always disappears fast.

The Story Behind The Feathered Apron

I started baking pound cake during one of the hardest seasons of my life — when my mother was sick with cancer. She had lost her appetite, but one day she mentioned she was craving an old-fashioned pound cake. I didn’t know much about pound cakes back then, but I found a recipe from a dear friend, gave it a try… and to my surprise, she ate the entire thing.

That moment stayed with me.

My mom always called me her “mama hen,” and that nickname became the inspiration behind The Feathered Apron. After she passed, baking that pound cake became more than just a memory — it became a way to keep her close and to share the same kind of love and comfort with others that she gave to me.

What started as one recipe grew into a cottage bakery full of heart, handmade treats, and small-batch bakes that feel like home. Every time I tie on my apron, I think of her. I truly find joy in taking care of my family, and through that came my love for baking. It is my love language, and I hope that is something felt in every bite.

Now, The Feathered Apron is growing into a new chapter: The Feathered Apron Mercantile.

While baking will always be the heart of this business, this new chapter allows me to expand into handpicked items that still feel true to who I am — boutique finds, baby gifts, kitchen goods, home treasures, faith-inspired pieces, and sweet little everyday comforts.

Because of my health, I may not always be able to bake as often as I would like, but The Feathered Apron still gives me a way to share warmth, comfort, faith, family, and home with others.

At its heart, The Feathered Apron Mercantile is still rooted in the same love that started it all — my mama, my family, my faith, and the joy of creating something that feels like home.

A little bakery, a little boutique, and a whole lot of heart.

I’m so excited to share this new chapter with y’all!
The Feathered Apron is growing into The Feathered Apron Mercantile — a cozy blend of boutique finds, baby gifts, kitchen goods, home treasures, and the pound cakes that started it all.

Baking will always be close to my heart, and I will still offer baked goods as my health allows. This rebrand simply gives me room to grow while staying true to the heart behind The Feathered Apron.
