Why Middle Way House?
Middle Way House is a nonprofit organization in Bloomington that supports and empowers survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. When I learned in depth about this organization last year while doing a project for school, I got to see what a vital role it plays in our community, and I knew I had to get involved. I have been volunteering at MWH since the beginning of this year, and I wanted to use this platform to further raise awareness and funds to support this amazing cause.

Fun fact: there’s over a pound of strawberries in this cake! 🍓

Made this cake for the IUSM Btown End of the Year Celebration! Although I couldn’t attend due to COVID protocols, it was wonderful seeing all the photos of beautiful people in lovely attire 💃🏻🕺🏻 This was also my first venture into French buttercream, which is super rich and delicious as a cake filling!

My first time making an anniversary cake ❤️ This cake was truly made with love, and it took a village— from our neighbors ( and fam 💜) letting me borrow their stand mixer since my parents’ one broke, to my customer herself helping to taste and mix buttercream for her parents’ cake, to my husband and cousin opening doors for me as I precariously move tiers around, to my aunt and uncle helping me with tiering and flower placement, to my mom and brother finding space for the cake and box in the fridge… the list goes on and on. Thank you to every person who contributed their time and efforts 💓
