From basement dweller to the morning shift… and now this old boy has negotiated himself quite the send-off!

When I reached out to Edhard Corporation, I was just hoping to find out how old our donut fillers were. I never expected a search through handwritten ledgers—or an offer to trade a brand-new filler for a little piece of their history.

Nearly 50 years later, he’s still filling donuts and if you ask me—that’s a pretty incredible testament to what they built. ❤️

Next up: a retirement, a grandchild’s arrival, and some BIG shoes to FILL…

Owning a bakery that’s been around since 1962 means you occasionally find things in the basement..

I found a second Edhard donut filler hiding under a shelf.
The one we use every day is one of the hardest-working “employees” at Kreger’s, so I reached out to Edhard Corporation to see if they could help me find out how old these guys are!

They matched my excitement and dug out the original handwritten sales ledger. The one I found downstairs was purchased in 1977!

Turns out my guy wasn’t ready for retirement quite yet.

Donuts are kind of our thing… so we got and idea and turned our seasonal favorites into LOAVES! 🍎🎃

Applesauce and pumpkin cake donut loaves topped with a caramel glaze—the perfect balance of cozy fall flavor and just enough sweetness!

All three of my kids approve! 🙌 Perfect with a cup of coffee, tucked into a lunchbox, or as an after-school snack.

The rolling pin wall is FINALLY up! 🥹

A while back we asked if anyone had old rolling pins collecting dust that they’d be willing to part with—and you guys DELIVERED.

Now they’re hanging on the bakery wall, and I absolutely love how it turned out. Some are old, some are worn, some have probably rolled out thousands of cookies, pies and Christmas cutouts—and now they get to be part of Kreger’s. ❤️

If anyone had tried their hand in bread making you know it can be frustrating.
We haven’t been super happy with how our sourdough has been turning out this summer…
So we messed with it, tweaked a few things, probably stared judgmentally at it…and we’re finally MUCH happier with how it’s turning out.

Better texture. Better crust. Better loaf.

New & improved sourdough is officially on the shelves. 🙌
