Amanda’s Cake Story...

My story starts in my Aunt’s kitchen, at the age of eighteen, not having any idea of what I really wanted to do with my life other than go on to college. I knew I was good at drawing and making things with my hands...creative things seemed to come natural to me, but I didn’t know exactly how this would shape or play a part in who I was to become.

My Aunt, Billie Ruth Price, was a natural born teacher- not only was she a reading teacher in her home town’s private church school for over 25 years at the time, but she was also the town’s “cake lady”. She started out making cinnamon rolls,but it grew into making friend’s birthday cakes and wedding cakes over the years. So, when I came to live with her before taking off to college, she intrigued me into the art of the cake world. Even after graduating from college, I could not stay away from this fascinating art! So, here I am, 20 years later, still learning, enjoying and creating art with cakes and I love it !
