FREEZE YOUR SOURDOUGH BREAD.
Itās that easy. Sourdough bread is so fantastic for freezing.
1.) Freezing sourdough bread lowers the glycemic index so that you donāt experience a blood sugar spike when you eat it. Sourdough bread already contains a lower glycemic index than your average quick yeasted bread, but freezing improves it dramatically! Basically the starches change under the temperature change, leading to little or no blood sugar spike.
2.) Makes it more convenient for you! Stock up on your favorite sourdough loaves so that you always have one on hand, even when your local dealer takes a break.
ā”ļødirections:
1.) whole or pre-sliced loaves work best. If slicing, place parchment paper between each slice for easy separation. Place loaves in a freezer safe bag.
2.) to use- defrost whole loaves and give a *quick* rinse under the faucet (to add moisture into the crust!) and bake in the oven at 350 until the crust is crispy and the bread is warmed through (15-20 minutes).
Pre-sliced- just remove a piece as needed and toast!
That reminds me- stock up on all sourdough this week at camasfarmersmarket on Wednesday (7/15) 3-7pm since KendraāØsourdough dealer⨠will NOT be at the market NEXT week (7/22)
