In 2017 I started baking breads and was having lots of fun with it. This past Christmas I got some new books that have really helped me improve my bread making. The recipes I use right now are very simple: flour, water, salt, and yeast. No preservatives or other additives and every step is done by hand. Iโve been on a baking spree this month and have been using every get-together as an excuse to make more bread. Iโm thankful to everyone who tasted my earlier breads and gave me input or encouraged me to stick with it. Many loafs later, I have a bread that Iโm very happy to share with others. It might be fitting that Iโm fulfilling my first orders for people from my old school, the German School of Washington DC (now known as the German International School). Iโm excited to bake bread for people that I know are missing German bakeries. I intend to master some specifically German recipes (yes, Brรถtchen included) this year, so that I can give anyone a taste of German baking in DC.
