Week 2: here we go!!

On Mondays I get to sleep in and arrive to the bakery at 8AM instead of 2:45AM, I like Monday’s 😂

New followers (and perhaps old ones) probably don’t know but I am NOT a morning person…like at all. When I decided to open a bakery the most important position to fill was the early morning bakers so I could sleep 😂😂. Once they are fully trained in, you better believe I won’t be at the bakery so early 😅

Hours are
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Wednesday: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Thursday: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Friday: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Sunday: CLOSED

At this time, we are not taking orders

Because of the amount of flour in the bakery, we do not do gluten free

We don't make donuts

We have about 2 dozen different flavors of bread so the menu is always changing! Prices of bread range from $8-14

Farmhouse Sandwich Bread, Everyday Sourdough, Plain Bagels and Kitchen Sink bagels are available daily

All breads and bagels are sourdough!

If we sell out, we will close early so we can have more time to restock for the next day! (hopefully we will get those numbers right so we can stay open the full day!!)

I will try my hardest to post what will be available each day (but I can't promise I will...last week I worked over 80 hours in 6 days and typing that much was the last thing I wanted to do!)

A late night harvest! (Because 8:30 is late for a baker 😅)

I was about to go to bed (brushed my teeth and everything) but then that yummy strawberry I ate the other day popped into my head.

That was enough, despite my extreme tiredness, I had to go check my strawberries. Sure enough, I got a nice sized handful!!

Seeing as I just brushed my teeth, I couldn’t eat them so I brought them in and gave them to my family. There will be more tomorrow for me to enjoy 😊

This is the first harvest from this strawberry bed. I transplanted a bunch of plants into it last year (maybe the year before 🤔). They are small but so tasty and the plants are FULL!! I also got a couple nice sized ones from my bed that was transplanted from my in-town garden!! The main giant bed is a bit further behind (thankfully because I’m not ready to get my Balls out and start canning 😂)

Maybe I’ll get enough to bring to the bakery this week to use!!

All positions are part-time (20-30 hours per week)

*Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
*Be willing to work at least every other Saturday

We are open!!!!

After being at the bakery for 17 hours today, I am calling it quits until 2-3ish tomorrow morning…wait that’s just 6-7 h...

After being at the bakery for 17 hours today, I am calling it quits until 2-3ish tomorrow morning…wait that’s just 6-7 hours away from now 🫣😴

This morning was the first day I had a line at the door when I opened!!! I was so excited!! The first person told me she arrived at 6:30!! I LOVE that!! The early bird does indeed get the worm (or in this case, first dibs of the tasty treats!!)

I know it’s disappointing to hear I sold out before you arrived but I am quite literally putting in as many hours as I can while I get staff trained in. Learning the art of lamination and sourdough takes time! Everyday this week I have been there 10-17 hours. In addition to that not only have my workers (some pulling 9 hour days) been there, my family has been too (some after their full time jobs!) Oliver was on dishes duty this morning before school, I even had my niece and nephew helping out this week (basically I’m getting out of having to do most of the dishes 😂) When I left tonight, there were still 4 people working. We really are preparing as much as we can right now, I promise!!

Tomorrow is the grand opening party!!! The doors open at 8AM, not a minute sooner!! One thing to note; we will be using the back door as an entrance door and the front door as an exit (backwards I know but we don’t want a line to have to form on the road construction area) There is a public parking lot across from the bakery and parking behind. No there will NOT be donuts or gluten free (well there are monster cookies which are technically gluten free but they are surrounded by flour so they have 100% been cross contaminated)

I am SO excited for tomorrow!! I hope to see so many of you!!! There will be sourdough bread & bagels, granola, cookies, danishes, croissants, pain au chocolates and more!!! Grab your baked goods and a coffee, orange juice or milk and have some great conversations and a fun time!!!

SOOOO incredibly thankful for my family members that came and helped out at the bakery today!! They are helping me make sure we have enough for the Grand Opening Party!! (My husband is helping also but I didn’t take his picture because I was dead tired and forgot 😭)

For those wondering, yes I will be hiring another person to help prep all of the dough (mostly cookie, danish and croissant dough).
