Something new for today in addition to the standard baguettes at Warrenton Farmers Market.

Laminated brioche dough, creamy butter, brown sugar. The amount of butter in these would make Paula Deen blush. (She’d still eat it, so sorry, not sorry.)

The French call it “brioche feuilletée caramélisée.” I say that’s a “mouthful of deliciousness.”

Supplies very limited because, well, laminating by hand takes a long time. Always fresh, never frozen.

After an oven malfunction—or user error, likely the latter—during the wee hours of baking, I’m sad to say there will be no baguettes today for the Warrenton Farmers Market. I don’t want to sell a product that I can’t stand behind.

Warrenton Farmers Market Patrons:

It’s been a rough three weeks. While I had intended to bring baguettes to market again for the holidays, life—as it is wont to do—has gotten in the way.

After a goodbye that lasted 14 long years, my father has taken his final breath. By coincidence, fate, or divine providence, he passed from his battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s just 2 weeks after his wife.

Always loved and loving, they made a house a home. They will be forever missed, eternally remembered.

I look forward to seeing you again in the new year. Wishing you and your families a wonderful Christmas and happy holidays.

Sadly, because of a death in the family, we will not be at the holiday market as anticipated. We look forward to seeing you after the holidays.

Now that I’ve managed to sleep a few hours after pumping baguettes through the home oven all night, I wanted to take a moment to say these words:

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Warrenton Farmers Market today and supported our debut with a baguette purchase, sampling, or warm words and hospitality. You’re what make this community great!

Looking forward to another market day providing freshly baked baguettes. Until then, Happy Thanksgiving.
