WE WANT YOU ! For the Meadowlark Kitchen team !

As many of you know a lot of our staff including myself are in recovery and where we are at today is certainly not where we started, something I’m incredibly grateful for. One of our biggest missions here at the Cafe is to give men and women the opportunity to work in a safe encouraging environment, while they restart there lives and work towards becoming the best versions of themselves. This is by far one of the most beautiful and rewarding experiences I get to witness and be part of in my life today.

With this sometimes we are only a stepping stone in the paths of some of our staff’s new incredible lives , with restored passion for life. They find what it is they want to do with their lives and amazingly get to pursue it.

Some of the rocks of my kitchen team are preparing to move on towards their new found callings, and while I’m sad to lose them, I’m also very excited to see them grow.

That leaves me here at the cafe looking for a couple new members to come join our team !

Meet two of them… Hugh and Stormy, the ultimate loyal dynamic duo! For those who've been hanging out at Meadowlark for the past 3 1/2 years, you probably know Hugh, the coolest dude with a heart of gold and some seriously awesome D***y branded merchandise that he has created. Stormy, on the other hand, is our newbie with a work ethic that's off the charts, a funky vibe that's contagious, and a smile that'll brighten up your day! Amanda has been at Meadowlark for 3 years and the appreciation we have for her is truly hard to put into words.

So much of what our guests love about Meadowlark starts long before sunrise… and Amanda is a huge part of that magic. While most of the world is asleep, Amanda is walking through our doors at 12:30am, quietly and consistently creating the pastries, our famous sourdough and breads, cookies, “Chirpwiches” (our ice cream sandwich!) and treats that fill our cases every single day. Her professionalism, thoroughness, work ethic, and dedication are simply unmatched.
Thank you Amanda for your consistency, your care, your talent, and for helping make Meadowlark what it is today. We love you to pieces and are beyond grateful for you❣️

A very large portion of my life I felt alone in a room full of people. Durning holidays I could be sitting with my family and feel 100 miles away. Overwhelmingly convinced I was different and no one really cared. Feeling sorry for myself , feeling lonely , resentful and unique became my personality and with that my actions only pushed people away perpetuating my beliefs. It was a sick cycle of self sabotage and self loathing and it’s a place any one of us can find ourselves very quickly any given day and it’s often easier a place to get into than it is to get out of. It wasn’t until I began to make an effort to actually contribute to the community around me seeking the similarities rather than the differences that i realized I don’t ever have to feel lonely again. Community is one of the most important aspects of my life today more importantly doing my best to bring a better version of myself and what I can to that community each day. This weekend was filled with beautiful collaborations with amazing people chefnickclare minimegatattoo and other great friends and family. My cup is full of gratitude for all the wonderful people in my life today.

That said here’s our new special a collaboration between chefnickclare and I created by Chef Nick plated by myself inspired by Mike at Minimega
