We are in the dead of winter, and motivations for resolutions can feel daunting or impossible to put in place. But like baking, or even gardening, we have to prepare for the changes that we want to take place.
In terms of baking, we need to have our ingredients, tools and time thought out and aligned for the future preparations. This is so we can go from flour, to a beautiful loaf of bread. What we start with, gradually changes into a masterpiece. It is the small preparations BEFORE the action that sets us up for success.
I've contemplated my goals for the year, and plan to keep these in mind as the days progress through each month. I won't be hitting the ground running, rather starting off with a walk to enjoy the process of change.
At the very top of my list, I want to focus on God. God has blessed me tremendously, He is the reason I have anything at all. So I want to continue to grow my relationship with Him. Become more deeply rooted in His Word and His path for my life.
Then, I want to create more locations for classes so they are attainable for everyone. I started out with delivery services, why not factor in a few classes as well? I also want to be able to extend my classes out to those who want to learn to bake but don't have financial funds to afford a class. The ability to make healthy from scratch breads at home is a possibility for everyone, you don't need much!
With that comes expanding my knowledge and skill set. This also means passing that onto my wonderful students and future students who will continuously seek me out for guidance. Creating a community of bakers who are connected to each other creates a sense of belonging, the very thing many people feel like they don't have.
Lastly, my hope is to bake more consistently not just for my community, but with my family. When we are a part of something bigger, and we serve our community, our children see that. They want to be a part of that too. This year I plan to bake more with my daughter at home, allowing her to create her own sense of accomplishment and joy. Where we can bond and create fun memories all while filling our bellies and our hearts. ❤️❤️
What are your plans? Do you have any? Do you like to start small, or go big?
