Enjoyed several wines from the cellar while celebrating the wedding of daughter Aileen to her sweetheart Scott. The wines were simply delicious - so surprised that the 1998 sangiovese held up very well for being bottled 26 years ago!

Tim and I opened this 1999 Sangiovese the other day and were amazed at the fruit retention. Aged and softened, past it’s prime - just like it’s makers!!

Enjoyed this lovely 2003 Chandler Reach Sangiovese from the library with a second Thanksgiving dinner - turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce. Chandler Reach is located above the Yakima River west of Benton City, and we always smile when we drive by.

We opened these YHC lovelies yesterday during my retirement celebration - one corked bottle of the two 2005 Solstice we tasted (cork taint, the winemaker's nemesis) - the 2002 WWV Sangiovese showed nice fruit and amazing longevity for young vineyards!! Fun!

Sweet reminder of our bottling crew breakfasts - often Baked Oatmeal served with Yellow Hawk raspberries and yogurt!! I'm cold-settling my cran-raspberry cordial for bottling on this foggy rainy Sunday. No chance of seeing the blood moon full eclipse tonight, unless we drive out if town....

Remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. tomorrow - his legacy is even more important in this divided country of ours. The Dream Lives On - let's make it reality!

Tim and I closed our tasting room in 2011 and ceased production of our distinctive Walla Walla and Columbia Valley wines. This page exists today as a 'legacy' - we're open to comments and connections.

We opened a bottle of 2003 Walla Walla Valley Sangiovese the other day - it was surprisingly good! Although the cork disintegrated....

So looking forward to the upcoming visit of Kayla and Peter Chitwood and kids visiting next week from their home in Fargo, ND. They've timed their trip to their old Oregon home to coincide with the solar eclipse!
