Look at this gem we found in the basement!

We'll be bringing this wheel back with some updated items.

First off, does anyone know who this belonged to? Which bakery owner used it, or introduced it to the bakery?

Also, how often was it used? Was it regularly, just during certain holidays (it currently has a few Easter related items on it), or whenever they felt like it?

Which items would you like to see added to the wheel?

How to make a simple healthy lunch?

East peasy.

Start with a healthy base or bread. Today I chose honey oat.

Next, find your favorite protein. I'm using smoked ham.

Lastly don't overcomplicate it. Pick one other flavor to add, could be lettuce, spinach, a sauce like mayo or hot sauce. I chose cheddar cheese because we had it.

That's it.

Simple. Inexpensive. Healthy. Filling.

Sometimes the key to life is to not overcomplicate it. A simple hot ham and cheese on honey oat made today's lunch go from ordinary to extra tasteful with just the right ingredients.

Come snag a loaf of our honey oat before its all gone!

Rosemary Olive Oil 🌱
Parmesan Garlic 🧀🧄
Jalapeno Cheddar 🌶️🧀
Cranberry Wild Rice 🍒
After 10am we will have:
Classic Sandwich bread
Italian herb and cheese
Honey Oat

We need ONE more Sunday to do some long overdue maintenance!

We should have done it this weekend, but we didn't know the weather would stay this nice in October.

We will be closed just October 18th, because of short staffing and thought we will be able to do one last piece of maintenance before the snow flies.

This one you will love, we know it!

We will return back open on Sunday starting October 25th.

It's everyone's FAVORITE day!

Sunday is here and Old Soul Artisan Bakery is back open, 7am-2pm.

Sundays downtown Wadena are my favorite.

It's quiet and calm. It reminds us that today is a day we don't have to rush.

It's the perfect day to spend time with family & friends.

Because life is more than just working and running errands.

It should be enjoyed.

My favorite way to enjoy a day like today is playing games with my daughters.

We actually did that yesterday, we came to the bakery, had a treat and spent the next hour playing card games like we had nothing better to do.

Because while I should have been home organizing my office, cleaning out my basement, or the other hundred tasks I have on my invisible list, I knew that in some way the most important thing I did that day wasn't to get caught up in what I should have been doing.

It was what I was doing.

Slowing down, laughing, sipping coffee, enjoying the community that comes in every week to support us.

Today feels like a day to do that.

The morning is quiet, the sun is rising, and the day can be whatever you choose today to be.

If you're needing a place to relax that's not at home, we're here 🫶🏻 grab a coffee, pack up the family, grab a card game to play, and enjoy the time together.

Because that's what life is all about, the little moments we'll remember for our whole lives.

Have you ever tried French toast with our bread?

Our new staff member, Jennifer tried our honey oat as French toast this morning and said it was "AMAZING"

This loaf has extra honey in it, to really highlight the Wonderful work those bees do all summer, but also has 90% MN grown wheat and oats in it!

In my opinion, our honey oat loaf is superior to almost any other loaf... If you like a little extra sweetness to your bread.

And sometimes, I do. If you're looking out for blood sugar or just trying to consume less conventional sugar, but crave that sweetness, our honey oat is definitely one to try.

We didn't make too many for this weekend, so if you're interested in this baby, it's best to come tomorrow morning to snag yourself one of these babies.

But don't worry, we make this wonderful creation every week. And it's become one of our more popular sandwich loaves!

Meet Jordyn!

You probably have seen her most recently as our new front of house staff, boxing up all of your favorite goodies, but Jordyn was first our back of house prep baker.

She is a master of cinnamon rolls and sticky buns, a queen at those fabulous fritters, and such a creative mind in all other ways.

She's rolled more loaves of bread in the last year than Julie probably has in her whole Old Soul Career.

Jordyn, you are truly so appreciated and valued here, if you see her helping you the next time you stop in, give her a big Thanks for being so great, because she has stuck with us through short staff, busy markets, and everything in between.

Jordyn's a true Old Soul, and I think that's my favorite part 🫶🏻

She's pretty proud of these raspberry pie scones she made today. And I don't blame her, even I want to have one!!
