Growing up in the Howell household, we had a saying— Second place is just the first loser. 🤪 That mentality has pushed me my entire life to work hard, and whatever I’m doing, do it to the best of my ability or don’t do it at all.
My home bakery started as a means to get to be a stay-at-home mom and still contribute a little financially to my home. Quickly, my home bakery turned into the mobile bakery, which expanded to providing desserts for schools, corporate events, and even baking a Christmas tree cake for Alabama’s chief meteorologist James Spann!
It still blows my mind when I’ll be out and about and someone will remember seeing me in the mobile bakery and say, “You’re Mal Nourished!” Truly makes me feel like a small town celebrity from time to time. 🥰 One proud moment comes to mind, I was about 2 hours from home and was talking to someone and they brought up desserts and how they had the “best cheesecake ever” recently at a birthday party. Brian told them, in his extremely biased opinion, that I make the best cheesecakes. The man said, “Not like these! They’re from someone called Mal Nourished.” My jaw dropped BECAUSE THAT’S ME! 👏🏼
All of that to say, I’m a self-taught, not the best but do my best, home baker that is honored to be a finalist in the Times Georgian Readers Choice awards! Thank you all for supporting MNB since 2019! 🫶🏼🤍
