As this year is is coming to a close, I am blown away by the support that me and my little business have received since relocating to Virginia Beach. I never advertise or throw my cake stuff in peoples faces. My husband, Josh, actually gets frustrated at times when I don’t include my side hustle/hobby in my answer when asked “So what do you do for work?”. When we moved into this neighborhood and started meeting people, they had already seen on my social media pages that I dabble in sweet treats. They were like “Say no more!” and started reaching out and trusting me with their special requests.

I was blessed with the opportunity to make 15 cakes this year, plus some other treats, and even had to turn away a few due to scheduling conflicts. 3 of those 15 were special occasions back in my hometown. That may not sound like a lot, but when the husband travels often for work and we have three boys who are active in sports, it was just enough to keep me busy.

As of today, my books are officially closed to new orders for the time being. I have been powering through orders this year with a torn tendon in my right elbow. I reached a point that I couldn’t do it anymore and needed to have it repaired. This is my dominant arm and I do plan to take it slow and steady. I’m unsure how long I’ll be sitting out, but will make sure to let you know when I’m backing game. Hopefully it’s not too long!

Again, thank you to everyone who supported me this year whether you placed an order or spoke encouraging words. It all means the world to me! I’m looking forward to what 2023 has in store 🎂🧁
