BONJOUR, SEPTEMBRE
La Rentrée, new beginnings & the first taste of autumn
There is something particularly beautiful about September in France.
The French call this time of year La Rentrée—literally, “the return.” After the long days of summer and the traditional August holidays, September marks the return to school, work, familiar routines, and everyday life.
But La Rentrée is more than simply going back. There’s an unmistakable sense of a fresh start to it—a new season, new routines, new plans, and the feeling that something is beginning again.
In Paris, September is especially lovely. The mornings grow a little cooler. Café terraces are still lively in the afternoon, but sweaters begin appearing in the evening. The first golden leaves collect along the sidewalks, pâtisserie windows begin to reflect the flavors of the coming season, and suddenly a warm café crème sounds just a little more tempting than something iced.
It’s not quite summer anymore.
And it’s not quite autumn.
It’s September—and we think that deserves to be celebrated.
This month at the café, we’re embracing La Rentrée with a new collection of cozy drinks, an autumn-inspired Afternoon Tea, and an afternoon devoted to one of our very favorite French traditions: macarons.
SEPTEMBER SIPS ☕
Five flavors for the changing season
Our September drink menu is all about that wonderful transition from late summer into fall—orchard fruits, fragrant spices, comforting teas, and plenty of cozy flavors.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Our quintessential autumn favorite, filled with pumpkin and warm baking spices.
Cozy Cardamom Latte
Warm, aromatic and beautifully fragrant, with the subtle floral spice of cardamom paired with espresso and milk.
Banana Bread Latte
Cozy and nostalgic, with sweet banana and baking spices inspired by a warm slice of homemade banana bread.
Salted Caramel Apple Cider Latte
Our house-made spiced apple cider syrup meets espresso for a drink inspired by crisp afternoons at the orchard.
Honeybush Hazelnut Tea Latte
Smooth Honeybush tea with notes of hazlenut — steeped in steamed milk for a delicious caffeine-free escape. Or add espresso to liven it up.
Which one will be your September favorite?

Whether you're an experienced home baker or you've never piped a macaron in your life, this class is designed to be approachable, relaxed, and—most importantly—fun.
Space is limited, so reserve your seat early.
AUTUMN AFTERNOON TEA 🫖
An afternoon inspired by the flavors of a French autumn
As the season begins to change, so does our Afternoon Tea menu.
This autumn, we’re taking inspiration from the orchard and the pâtisserie—think apples and pears, buttery pastry, toasted nuts, caramel, chocolate, herbs, and warm spices.
All accompanied by a pot of tea and a few unhurried hours around the table. Upgrade to a High Tea at the counter and receive a glass of Champagne or Apple Cider Mimosa for the perfect experience.
Reservations for Autumn Afternoon Tea are now open.
BIENVENUE, AUTOMNE 🍂
There’s a particular kind of beauty to these in-between days.
Summer hasn’t completely disappeared. The afternoons may still be warm, flowers are still blooming, and iced coffee certainly hasn't left us yet.
But then there’s that first cool morning.
The light begins to change. Apples and pears appear at the market. We start reaching for sweaters again. And suddenly, sitting down with a warm latte and something freshly baked feels exactly right.
Maybe that’s why we love the French idea of La Rentrée so much.
September doesn't have to feel like the end of summer.
It can feel like the beginning of something new.
So here's to new routines, crisp mornings, changing leaves, warm cups of coffee, long afternoons over tea, and plenty of macarons along the way.
We hope you'll spend a little of your September with us.
À bientôt,
