Hello September! New month, new reasons to celebrate.

Oh my goodness… if this day couldn’t get any sweeter.

I just received a message from a dear friend from high school with a picture of her brand-new grandbaby who was born TODAY, on my birthday.

This precious baby was named after her family, and great grandparent. The babies middle name is Bonnie.

Bonnie was my mom’s name. ❤️

I know the name has absolutely nothing to do with MY family, but after the kind of day this has been and with my mom so heavily on my heart lately, what are the chances that on my birthday, a sweet new little life enters the world carrying her name?

Maybe some things are simply coincidence. But tonight, I’m choosing to receive this one as a little wink from heaven. ❤️
And congratulations to my sweet friend and her new granddaughter.

What a beautiful way to end my birthday.

First, I just want to say thank you to everyone who trusted me enough to share your stories with me. I read every single one, and goodness my heart was tugged in so many directions.

Unfortunately, I only had one bouquet to give today. There were a couple of people in one message that my heart immediately said, they need this blessing. I met with their daughter earlier today and sent these cupcakes on their way.

I’ve chosen not to share their story publicly. God knows who they are, He knows what they’re walking through, and we can simply pray for the ones who received today’s little bit of sweetness.

And here’s the part that got me… After I messaged the person who nominated them to let her know I had chosen them, she told me today was his birthday too. Y’all! You can’t tell me that God isn’t in the details.

So I’ve decided I’m not deleting a single message I received. I’m keeping every name and every story, and I’m going to pray over them. And I don’t want this to end with one bouquet. I’m going to slowly work my way through this list and, as I’m able, suprise others with a little sweetness too. So if you messaged, I will be reaching back out to you sometime.

This whole thing started late yesterday afternoon with one little cupcake bouquet and a desire to honor my mom by giving to someone else. But ever since, I keep wondering…

Is God trying to tell me something?

Am I supposed to start some sort of little cupcake ministry?

Because if something as simple as a cupcake can open the door for prayer, remind someone they’re thought about, and bring even a tiny bit of joy during a hard season. Maybe there’s something more to this.

I don’t know what it looks like yet. For now, I’m just going to pray about it and see where God Leads me.

Maybe sometimes being a blessing really can be as simple as a cupcake. Go be sweet in someone’s day.

Update! There is a new updated post!

It’s kinda late to start a giveaway, but I pretty much do everything late. So this will be a quick one!

From now until 10 tomorrow morning, message me if you know someone who is going through a hard season and could use a little something to brighten their day. I know there will be several, and I wish I had one for everyone, but I only have this one bouquet to give away. 💐

Tomorrow is my birthday, and this one has just felt a little emotional. I’m turning the same age my mom was when she passed away. Her birthday was always exactly one week before mine, so she’s been on my mind a lot this past week.

Late this afternoon I was feeling kind of emotional , thinking about how I was only 28 when I lost her. And then I thought…Mom would not be happy knowing I had spent the week feeling sad.

My mom was a giver. She was always doing for someone else, helping someone, giving something away or finding a way to make someone feel loved. My dad was the same way, and I was blessed to grow up watching that kind of generosity.

So I decided there was no better way to honor her than to do something she would have done herself, give.

So I made this bouquet with the hope that it can bring a little happiness to someone who really needs a little pick me up.

So this little bit of sweetness is in honor of my mom. ❤️

*SEPTEMBER NEWS*

September is filling up quickly! If you’re needing to get on my calendar now is a great time to reserve your spot. This September our family will also have a very special celebration.

We’ll be taking September 27–October 2 off because our oldest girl is graduating!

McKenna has worked so incredibly hard for this moment, and next month she’ll officially earn her Master of Physician Associate Studies. Watching all of those years of hard work finally come together is such a proud moment for our family.

We can’t wait to celebrate her and those very well-earned credentials she gets to add behind her name! ❤️

Hi, I’m Shelly. The baker, flower maker, box packer, dishwasher, and everything in between behind Sugar Pie Farms.

I’m married and a mama to three grown girls. By day, I work a full-time job, and somewhere in between work, family and life, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen with a piping bag in my hand.

One of my favorite parts of Sugar Pie Farms is making every order feel special. I love the little details that make an order stand out for the occasion, from the cupcakes themselves to the packaging.
