Did you guys know that most store bought "sourdough bread" is not actually made with a sourdough starter? It is actually given the sour flavor from adding vinegar and citric acid! This actually cuts out the benefits of true sourdough! What are the benefits of true sourdough bread? Here are a few:

1. During the fermentation process, the bacteria/yeast actually predigest the grains which in turn makes this bread easier to digest. This is good news for those with gluten intolerance (not recommended for celiac disease!)
2. Sourdough bread acts as a preboitic which is what feeds the good bacteria that lives in your gut. This bacteria is what creates healthy digestion. 😊
3. It is also low on the glycemic index. For those who have diabetes or hyperglycemia, this means no sugar spikes like you experience with regular white breads!
4. Fewer preservatives and more nutrients even though it's only made with 3 ingredients... (flour, water, salt. Unless of course you have flavor add ins 😉).

Let me know what you guys want! I want to keep baking and I need orders 🥰 I was just baking loaves but now I'm going to bake on demand so it may take a day or 2 to get you your loaves. This increases freshness and also decreases waste (and my pant sizes because I have no self control and will eat all unpurchased bread...). 🫶
