Happy almost Summer everyone! It’s been a while, so I wanted to check in and make the announcement I’ve been dragging my feet to do…so here it goes…
Baked By Brie is also a full time Mom of 3. Yup, those beautiful kiddos in the picture above are my whole world and keeping my husband and myself on our toes. Our oldest two have us somewhere almost every night of the week, sometimes two places like tonight Dance followed by a soccer game (insert sandwiches for dinner in the car).
I tried so very hard to be everywhere and everything for so many over the last few years but this past year really was just plain tough. My mother has needed some extra help, my kiddos are just growing in a flash right before my eyes, and with my youngest (and last) I wasn’t getting to savor the precious moments that I know are so fleeting. Most importantly while trying to juggle everyone else’s needs, I wasn’t taking care of my own. Many sleepless nights up until 3/4 AM baking to catch a few hours of shut eye having to get up either with my youngest or getting the older two up and out the door for school, missing weekend hockey games or family get togethers to take on a last minute order (I’m always horrible at saying no, I’m a people pleaser).
After much thought and conversation with the most supportive and loving husband, I have decided for the time being to hang up my apron on custom cookies and cakes. Right now my job is home, taking care of my three beautiful babies and our household and ultimately myself.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe summer! And it won’t be the last of me 😜 I’ve got some great ideas up my sleeve. Until the next sweet treat…
