There’s something magical about crisp mornings, fresh pastries, and the hum of a farmers market in the fall 🍂

This week, we’re stepping away from the ovens to celebrate our wedding anniversary - a little love story that’s baked into everything we do 🥂

But don’t worry, we’ll be back next weekend 10/10 + 10/11 with a full menu of nostalgic autumn treats. The kind that remind you of home: cinnamon-swirled memories, cozy spices, and cookies that hug you back 🥧🍪✨

We’re beyond grateful to share that will be joining the Saturday farmers market from November through March 🧺 👩‍🌾 That means you can find Melba’s at the market year-round!! 🤎🧡🤎

(You’ll also be able to find Melba’s inside your favorite Uptown shop on Sundays through the winter 😉). More details on that soon!

Meet Heather, the baker and owner of 🧡

“Growing up with food sensitivities and allergies in the family, I was aware at an early age about finding ‘inclusive’ dessert options.

I set out to create the most delicious, tree nut, peanut, seed oil free chocolate chip cookie recipe as a young teen. Seeing the joy it brought people when they were able to finally enjoy that allergen-friendly pastry, sparked the love language of nourishing my community with food.

Making the change to a vegan lifestyle in 2019, the next adventure was to reimagine my favorite recipes from a plant-based lens, while still maintaining that childhood nostalgia my grandma served up at her weekly Sunday lunches.

In 2021, I started my first business. Through that, I tested out recipes at events, created a community of nature lovers (and witches ✨), and learned what I needed to make my 5 year plan of owning a food business a reality. I started from square one, taught myself the ins and outs of permits, licenses, commercial food preparation and more.

My story is important because it validates the journey. It reminds us that the dreams are never too big. You can decide to change your mind about your career, your college major, or your surroundings.

It’s when you lead from a place of authenticity, that you will be rewarded with reciprocity and community 🫰🏼🧡✨

Homemade ye**ty Danish dough, braided around a homemade compote of locally grown blueberries and lavender 🫐✨

Completely plant-based with no eggs or dairy, so yes, it’s vegan!! 🌱

This yummy pastry will be available this weekend August 1st + August 2nd 🧺

We’re only making four long Danish braids and serving them up as slices, so they may go fast 🧡
