Ash,
You’ve always been my baby. The moment we heard it was possible we’d get you. The moment I saw you in that tiny screen. The moment I cut your umbilical cord. The moment I held you in my arms. The first time you were sick. The first step you took. When you fell down and scraped your knee. When you copied the navigation speaker in the car. When wouldn’t smile for the picture I took of you the other day. When you’ve been the most vulnerable, happy, sad, wild, funny, honest, loving, artistic, articulate, and so much more. But I knew you were and would always be my baby, when you called me Mommy for the first time.

This video your sister took of you at 4 years old is the cutest. You have always had your mind made up. Your answer crack me up. Viewing all the old photos and videos of you today made me laugh, cry, smile, and really wish you were here today. But I know you’re having the best time with your sister in Arizona.

I hope your 14th birthday has been full of memories to last you a lifetime. Because all of the wonderful memories I have of you will last forever in my heart. Thank you for being you!

Today was amazing! Our bakery supported an incredible local non-profit neighbor, , at their Co****le fundraising event in VC! We represented the Yellow Brick team and brought home first place. What made it even more special was giving our winnings right back to , and the second-place winners did the same! It was a fantastic day supporting Wylde and his therapy center. Wylde's story is truly inspiring - he has a rare TUBB3 mutation, but thanks to the therapy services provided, he's getting better every day. If you're looking to make a difference, consider volunteering or donating to . Huge thanks to Rachael and Grant for letting us be part of this amazing cause!

This is what keeps me up at night. Well, besides Sourdough Bread. Random thoughts about yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

After our last post, our bakery suffered backlash online and from our beloved community. It broke our hearts over the attack we felt. Especially from the town that we nourished and supported. It made us think, why can’t we have different views and not come together as a community?

Most likely we will get some more hate mail from this post too. And that’s okay. Because this, this post and any of our posts should be clear as to the kind of humans we are. We choose unity. We choose people over politics.

Not all of you responded in a bashing way. We appreciate the ones who could share their view without dismissing ours. No matter the responses we receive, just know that we choose CommUNITY always. It’s always been and will always be our honor to serve you. No matter your faith, your race, or your political stance.
