Sometimes I miss the old me. Don’t get me wrong, the old me would totally be friends with the new me! 😅 But this photo popped up on my feed from 6 years ago and I caught myself wishing to go back. Wishing for a simpler time with less responsibilities and less chaos.
But here’s the thing, I wouldn’t really want to go back. The girl in that picture cried every time she saw a pregnancy announcement wondering if she’d ever get her miracle. She prayed for a group of close friends almost daily. She went to work every day and longed to someday be able to stay home. Everything the girl in that picture prayed for is the life I’m living. I have my three beautiful babies with my wonderful husband, I have the best group of friends that I get to do life with, I get to stay home and raise my kids and I don’t have a 9-5.
I may not get to bake as much now, but I get to use my creativity in different ways. I get to use it to teach my kids and love on the people around me. I may not be able to buy myself all the quirky fun things I think I “need,” but instead, I finally get to roam the baby aisles buying diapers and everything else I never thought I could. And I may not have the hands to film everything I want to share anymore, but it’s because those hands are holding and guiding littles.
So maybe I don’t actually wish I could go back, but instead maybe I just needed the reminder of how much good God has brought into my life ♥️
