Position Overview: Clara White Mission is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Culinary Education Assistant. This position will work closely with the Culinary Education Director to support the development and delivery of culinary education programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others through education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Culinary Education Director in planning, organizing, and executing culinary education programs and workshops.
2. Provide hands-on instruction and guidance to program participants in various culinary techniques, including cooking methods, knife skills, and food safety practices.
3. Collaborate with the Culinary Education Director to develop curriculum materials, lesson plans, and instructional resources.
4. Support program administration tasks, such as participant registration, scheduling, and record-keeping.
5. Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all program participants, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
6. Assist with the procurement and organization of culinary supplies, ingredients, and equipment for educational activities.
7. Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.
8. Conduct evaluations and assessments to measure the effectiveness of educational programs and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working in culinary education, culinary arts instruction, or a related field preferred.
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge, with proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Passion for teaching and mentoring others, with a commitment to promoting culinary education and empowerment.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the evolving needs of educational programs.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
