A little FTC lore for you 🍪
First of all, if you’ve ever been to an Egyptian wedding in New Jersey, you KNOW the food situation is insane. And my friend’s wedding was no exception.

Found this old video from cocktail hour. The bride and groom had already made their grand entrance, everyone was heading inside and there I was… still helping myself to more food because I had just discovered an ENTIRE other room of food I somehow missed. 🤣 Meanwhile, my friends were chanting “FEED THE CHEEKS! FEED THE CHEEKS!” at me.

For those who don’t know, Feed the Cheeks was my little food Instagram account long before it became a cookie business. I’ve always been a huge foodie and used to complain to my friends about my cheeks getting rounder. My FACE cheeks, guys 😂 I know some of you have had a little too much fun with the name.
Funny how an inside joke ended up on a storefront. The cookies came later. 🤎

Almost six years of Feed the Cheeks and I guess it’s finally time I stopped hiding behind the cookies. 🍪
For the longest time, I was perfectly happy letting the cookies do all the talking. I never really wanted to be the face of this business and if I’m being honest, I struggled with a whole lot of imposter syndrome.
I wasn’t a trained baker, didn’t know anyone in my circle doing anything remotely similar and somehow decided opening a cookie shop in the middle of a pandemic was a good idea. 😆

I think I was always trying so hard to stay humble that I never really learned how to be proud of what we were building.
And somehow, by the grace of God, this little business became so much more than I ever imagined. The opportunities, the people we’ve met and the love we’ve received over the years… Alhamdulillah, I’ll never stop being grateful.

But life has a funny way of changing your perspective. Between becoming a mom, navigating life without my own mother and unexpectedly losing my dad last year, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on what really matters and what success even means to me anymore. I didn’t realize I cared so much about what people thought of me and to appreciate how far we’ve come.

To everyone who’s been here since day one, or found us somewhere along the way, thank you for being part of our story.
Next, I’m taking you behind the counter as I get to know my own business again. It’s about to get real 💕
