Iāve seen a lot of beautiful Dolly cookies and tributes being shared since her passing, and I know everyone processes loss and honors people differently.
For me personally, though, I wonāt be creating Dolly cookies, reels or other content for my business page. Iāve gone back and forth about even making this post because, truthfully, even posting about it feels like a bit of a gray area.
Thereās a difference between genuinely creating something as a personal tribute and quickly turning someoneās death into content because their name is trending. Even when nothing is being sold, business-page content still generates views, engagement, reach and potentially followers or future sales. And for me, using someoneās passing in a way that could benefit my business just feels like a line Iām not comfortable crossing.
The exception is anyone legitimately using their platform to raise money and donating ALL proceeds to Dollyās charities. I think thatās a wonderful way to honor her and continue supporting the causes she cared so much about.
So you wonāt see Dolly cookies from Cranked Up Confections. Not because I didnāt love her. Quite the opposite.
Sometimes the best way to honor someone is simply to let the moment be about them, not business.šš¦
