A Note From Our Family
When we first started in the donut business over 12 years ago, naming some of our locations after our daughter felt like the perfect fit. Her name represented something sweet, personal, and full of pride for our family. Over the years, she would beam when she said, “I’m Livi Lee,” and that meant more to us than we can ever explain.
But over the past few months, we have also realized something important: her name belongs to her. She deserves the chance to grow up and navigate her own identity without unnecessary negativity, rumors, criticism, or business-related opinions being tied to something she did not cause and should not have to carry.
To some, that may seem small. To others, it may not feel like a big deal. But to us, and to her, it matters.
We are an imperfect, woman-owned, family-focused business. We employ imperfect human beings of different ages, backgrounds, personalities, and experiences. Like any business, we have had ups, downs, mistakes, lessons, and growth. But from the beginning, one thing has remained true: we show up every day trying to do our best, and when we fall short, we try to learn from it and do better.
We have always served Daylight products, while also working hard to build our own identity, culture, and connection with the communities we serve. This business has supported our family, our employees, and many local communities over the years, and we are deeply grateful for that.
As most of our locations move forward under a different name, we wanted to share a small piece of our truth before rumors, speculation, or opinions begin to fill in the blanks.
This decision is not about running from who we are. It is about protecting something — and someone — far more important than a business name.
To our loyal customers and continual supporters over the years, thank you. It has truly been a sweet journey, and we are beyond grateful for your business, encouragement, and grace.
And to our harshest critics, we are thankful for you too. You remind us that we are human, that we are a business run by humans, and that there is always room to keep learning, growing, and trying again.
With gratitude,
Our Family
