Camp Fierce Tahlequah is coming October 9–11, and we still have spots available!

This is NOT a sit-in-a-classroom-and-listen-to-someone-talk kind of weekend.

Camp Fierce is 2.5 days, costs just $50, and is taught by more than 50 female firefighters who are volunteering their time because they believe the next generation deserves the opportunity to see themselves in this profession.

This isn’t your average weekend camp.

For 2.5 DAYS, 40 girls will step into the fire service and find out exactly what they’re capable of.

🔥 SO…WHAT EXACTLY IS CAMP FIERCE? 🔥

It’s hard to explain Camp Fierce until you’ve experienced it.

It’s not a classroom.
It’s not a career fair.
And it’s definitely not a weekend of standing around watching firefighters do cool things.

At Camp Fierce, YOU do the cool things. 💪🔥

Camp Fierce is a hands-on firefighter experience created by Oklahoma Women on Fire to give girls and women the opportunity to step into the fire service, challenge themselves, learn what they’re capable of, and experience firsthand what it feels like to be part of the fire family.

Over the course of the weekend, our campers get geared up and get to WORK. Here are some of the fun firefighter things you may experience at Camp Fierce

🚒 Advance and operate fire hose
🔥 Experience live-fire scenarios
🪓 Force their way through our breach wall
🚗 Get hands-on with vehicle extrication
🧗‍♀️ Learn ropes and rappelling
🔦 Perform search & rescue evolutions
🚨 Learn MAYDAY and firefighter survival skills
🩺 Practice CPR and lifesaving skills
💨 Crawl through dark, confined spaces and learn to trust themselves and their team

And that’s only part of it.

Because Camp Fierce has never really been just about firefighting.

It’s about watching someone stand in front of something that scares her…and do it anyway.

It’s about the girl who shows up quiet and unsure of herself and leaves standing a little taller.

It’s about learning that being strong doesn’t mean you aren’t afraid.

It means you’re willing to try.

You do NOT have to know anything about firefighting.
You do NOT have to be an athlete.
You do NOT have to already know that you want to become a firefighter.

You just have to be willing to show up and challenge yourself.

🔥 WHO IS CAMP FIERCE FOR?

Females 16 and older who are curious about the fire service, and possibly considering it as a career.

You’ll spend the weekend learning alongside other women and being taught, encouraged, and challenged by firefighters and fire service professionals who WANT to see you succeed.

You may come to Camp Fierce because you think firefighting looks cool.

You may leave realizing you just found your career.

Or you may leave knowing firefighting isn’t for you—but with a whole new understanding of just how capable you are.

One of our amazing Camp Fierce alums!!

We would just like to brag on two of our members! Brendon Keith & Ivy Toney have stepped up and are taking a Firefighter 1 class. This class requires a large amount of time, effort, and commitment! We are thankful for their dedication to this department and our community! This class will give them a wide range of specialized training that will equipped them to be better firefighters and help them better serve our great community! ❤️🚒👨🏻‍🚒👩🏻‍🚒🇺🇸

We want to extend our sincere thanks to OSUFST for the incredible support they provided during this year's Girls Fire Camp in Stillwater. Fire Service Training

A weekend of unpredictable Oklahoma weather couldn't stop Camp Fierce. Thanks to the incredible team at OSU-FST, we were able to adapt our training and continue making the most of every opportunity. From providing the facilities and equipment we needed to having their training staff on hand to set up fire training props, man safety lines, supply vehicles for our extrication day, getting our gear ready for the next camp and SO MUCH MORE, they truly went ABOVE and BEYOND.

Their generosity, professionalism, and dedication helped make this one of our biggest and most successful camps yet.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to use such outstanding training facilities and to work alongside a team that is so committed to supporting the next generation of women firefighters.

Thank you, OSUFST, for your partnership, your hospitality, and for helping make Girls Fire Camp an unforgettable experience. We couldn't have done it without you!
