Hi folks! I'll be selling pineapple buns, mochi bars, and EGG TARTS at TroyAsia at the parking lot this Friday (July 23) from 7 PM to late!

I will have my classic pineapple buns, as well as ube and matcha crust buns!

I'm excited to announce that I'll be selling pineapple buns at TroyAsia this Friday (June 11) from 7 PM to late!

WOW, what a night! Thank you to everyone who came to TroyAsia on Friday. It was a little bit of chaos but a lot of fun (I’m still slowly recovering). I got to see many familiar faces and also met lovely folks who hadn’t made it out to previous markets yet. For now, that’s my last planned pop-up for a while, but stay tuned for future collaborations and events! Egg tarts are a classic Hong Kong dessert. Modern egg tarts are a fusion between the Portuguese pastel de nata and English cooking techniques that influenced Chinese port cities in the twentieth century. I make my egg tarts with a flaky puff pastry crust, filled with creamy egg custard.

Preparations are under way for TroyAsia on October 25th! I’ll be selling all the crowd favorites, along with some new specialty items. Make sure to get your pastry fix before the night ends!

Mooncakes are a delicate Chinese pastry traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the four most important Chinese festivals. I make my mooncakes with over a dozen types of mixed fruits and nuts wrapped in a thin honey-based crust.

I have been on much-needed break from baking for Zhang’s House, but I will be selling mooncakes and other goods at TroyAsia on October 25th, from 6 PM to late! If you haven’t tried a mooncake yet, you can get one then!

It’s the end of night market season, and I can’t say enough thanks to everyone who has come out in the past weeks to support me. A special thank you to for hosting the event and for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful experience.
For those who don’t know me, hello! My name is Shannon. I just graduated from RPI in May with a degree in architecture. I currently work full time at . Zhang’s House is my little side project to bring the flavors of my childhood to Troy. I’ve been baking since I was twelve, and I feel extremely lucky that I can now do this thing I love for a living.
My next pop-up will be at TroyAsia on October 25! In the meantime, I am taking custom orders for any of your pastry needs. Stay tuned for more updates!

Pineapple buns are a Chinese bakery staple. They have a crispy, sweet crust and a fluffy interior. The name describes its crackly and golden appearance, as there is actually no pineapple in the bun. They’re a crowd favorite at the - if you haven’t tried one yet, come by this Thursday to get yours!
