Mentally Unstable Bakery

Mentally Unstable Bakery I began baking recently from scratch as a way to connect with my mother after unexpectedly losing her on January 11, 2024.

It started as a joke about being "mentally unstable" but then turned into my personal journey of going through the stages of grief.

Due to the holiday weekend, we did not make it to The WoodShed Market today! However, if everything goes to plan, we will be there next Sunday!

The menu:
-No Bake Cookies
-Cinnamon Rolls
-Rice Krispies (potentially 3 different kind)

We’re new, so we’re still testing out what products you all want the most! We appreciate you bearing with us and following us along this journey.

Also, let us know what you like and don’t like! Requests? Let me know. We welcome positive and negative criticism-it’s the only way to be successful. My feelings may be hurt a little bit..but that’s a conversation for another day.. 😂

No one talks about the downside.

When you come home from two days of markets with 75%-80% of your products.

When you’re discouraged.

When you’ve put in so much effort-mentally, physically, and financially to barely make it over the start line.

When you’re ready to give up because you’ve failed.

When the late nights, long days, and early mornings feel like a complete waste of time.

When you have to discuss how many times you want to fail before you quit.

No one wants to talk about any of it.

I’m not here to be and won’t ever be the person who will fake it and say everything is going great, when in reality, it’s not and I’ve failed.

This weekend, I was a complete failure.

However, to our friends, new and old, that have shown up and supported us, you are more appreciated than you realize!

Obviously, I have a surplus of product that I don’t want to throw away. Instead of the normal spiel, let’s just make it quick, easy, and to the point.

Thank you to everyone that supported us today! We have a TON left over. So, we will be at The Woodshed Market in Topeka tomorrow from 10-3 (we actually may have to leave around 130-2). Hope to see you there!

Am I on PTO? No. Do I have a full time job? Yes. Do I have responsibilities for said job? Yes. However, thankful for a supervisor who is encouraging (even when I be dumb sometimes and suck at my job) and lenient to allow me to be able to pursue other opportunities during the work day. (As long as I get my stuff done, as she would say and does say hah).

So today, in between mandatory trainings, case plans, staffings, paperwork, emails, and texts/calls we are starting to prep for Saturday!

Saturday, we will will have:
1. 4 types of mini loaves (y’all ate them up at the last market!)
2. 3 types of cookies
3. 2 types of brownies

Can’t wait to see y’all there!

Hey friends!

Well, I overbaked for market and now I have a ton of goodies left. So, instead of throwing them out, we’re going to have a flash sale/surplus sale/idk type of sale/please buy them sale on all of the left overs.

We have:
12- 4pk snickerdoodles
15- 6pk of variety cupcakes
4- 12 pk of mini cupcakes
36- single cinny rolls
5- vanilla icing chocolate single cupcakes
4- vanilla on vanilla single cupcakes
4- chocolate on vanilla single cupcakes
2- chocolate on chocolate single cupcakes
8- red velvet single cupcakes

Everything is $1! Except single cupcakes, those are 4 for $1!

Pick up in SW Topeka, near Auburn road or we can meet somewhere in Topeka OR if you’re a coworker at our regular job, we can meet at the office.

Don’t forget: we also have chicken eggs ($4 a dozen) and duck eggs ($6 a dozen)
