Tuesday morning update: Many Texans still remember the February 2021 winter storm, so it’s understandable to feel uneasy with cold weather in the forecast.

This weekend’s system is not the same as 2021, but confidence is increasing that much colder weather and accumulating winter precipitation will lead to travel disruptions, especially across the northern half of Texas.

We expect travel impacts to develop late Friday and continue through early Sunday, with impassable roads possible at times. Some infrastructure impacts may also occur, particularly in areas that see ice or prolonged cold.

Now is the time to prepare:
• Plan ahead and be ready to adjust travel plans
• Protect people, pets, pipes, and plants
• Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather updates

We’ll continue to refine details as we get closer and share updates as confidence increases.

Continued prayers for Kerrville, Ingram, Hunt, Comfort. The great recent news is that they found two girls alive clinging to a tree 27' in the air! Praise God! It's still a search and rescue.
The FFA teacher/advisor at Ingram ISD, Mrs. Jessica Reeves posted this because so many want to help. Here is a way that you can help! They are needing gift cards to SPECIFIC stores so that they can pass them out to the families in need. The gift cards can be mailed to the address below.

FFA chapters that have reached out…first, thank you for “Living to Serve”! God bless you all!!! Here is the plan. We are at capacity for donations at almost every location. We need cleaning supplies but the outpouring of those locally should meet our needs. We need a GIFT CARD DRIVE instead of supplies, please. Local school admin thinks this is best. They need to be solely WALMART, HEB, LOWES, HOME DEPOT, or generic like VISA or MASTERCARD because that’s what we have here. Families will be able to purchase clothes, shoes, sheets, food, towels, etc…
