There’s good days musky fishing and then there’s the day that Kyle Thayse had with me last week. His first time musky fishing and he catches 5 muskies before 11 am. Kyle was one of my college roommates and a good friend of mine. This kind of day on the water couldn’t have happened to a better guy. A day of fishing we’ll never forget!

Fun fact about Bo’s tiger musky he caught yesterday morning:

Exactly 3 years and 4 days earlier Brock Young caught the same fish in my boat on the exact same spot.

First two pics are of Brock’s fish and on the bump board you can see the red mark on its lip that caused the damage you can see when Bo is holding it. If you zoom in and use the markings on its cheeks you can easily see it’s the same fish. It was 38” inches when Brock caught it in 2021 and it’s now 44”. The night before we fished I actually showed Bo a pic of Brock’s fish and said there’s nice tiger muskies in this lake… the next morning we caught the fish in the picture. Catch and release works and muskies can be very territorial!

Bo’s first time targeting muskies and he catches these two on topwater before 6:30 am! The tiger musky is the biggest we’ve had in our boat at 44 inches! Great day on the water with Bo and Ben!

First topwater fish of the year!

Maureen caught this fish on Sunday and it’s the 3rd time it’s been in our boat. I caught it in August of 2020 and then again in July of 2022. The circular scar toward its tail, split dorsal fin, and damage to its gill plate let you recognize it right away. Catch and release works. 2 years we’ll check in on him again I guess.

We are donating a guided musky trip again this year for the basket raffle. Get some tickets in the bucket if you want a chance to win a trip with us! This is a great community event that we are proud to support. Hope to see you there!

National Night Out, is tomorrow night, August 1 from 5pm-7pm @ Commercial Club Park. Free food (brats, hamburgers, and hotdogs), chips, soda and water, cookies, and refreshing Dilly Bars,

The weather is supposed to be excellent. There will be a bouncy house, a DJ, face painting, and cotton candy.

Kiddos and adults will have the opportunity to interact with police, conservation warden, fire, EMS (First Responders), and public works. There will be all kinds of vehicles for you to check out.
