Hello bread family 🥖

Baby bun #3 is the size of a loaf of sourdough these days and we are getting close to meeting him!

🚨In light of that, my last bread pick up day for a bit will be March 4!

If you want to order an extra loaf to freeze in the next two weeks, go for it! Sourdough freezes super well!

Just a little check in from your local Midwest Bread Mama 🥖

I have found that the winters natural rhythm beckons us to slow our pace. I have also been hearing Jesus speak to my heart, asking me to slow my hands and my plans and just simply lean into the season of change he has me in.

Something about being pregnant and preparing my heart and my home for new life maybe…

My whole being tends to fight the slowing down. I’ve come to see that this wrestle to release is in and of itself a spiritual discipline.

It can be a very purposeful time and a very challenging time for our busy, noisy nation.

So my question for you is,
How are you doing with the slowing down and the current season?

Also fun fact!
Sourdough bread is naturally leavened by a bacteria called lactobacillus.
This bacteria in sourdough has actually been seen to help lower diabetes due to the ability to lower sugar absorption in our bodies when it’s eaten!

Cool huh?

Fun fact! 🥖🏠
Bethlehem means “bread house”. And Jesus was called “The Bread of life”.
So… is it a huge stretch to say that Jesus, the Bread of Life, was born in a bakery? 👀

I don’t know guys, there is something real spiritual about bread.

And this little tidbit is just scratching the surface…

🥪This week on our order you will be able to order our sourdough sandwich bread!

Long fermented sourdough loaf made with organic wheat flour and sweetened with a little bit of honey 🙌🏻

This is the softest sandwich bread I think I’ve ever had.

Preorder for Tuesday April 23 will be open Friday morning - Sunday at noon!
