Happy Earth Day! Here's hoping y'all are getting to take a walk or dig in some dirt today! To keep the reduce, recycle, reuse, repurpose, repair vibe going, we're hosting a Spring Cleaning / Planting Swap Meet from Sunday, May 17 through Wednesday, May 20 in our upstairs space. More details below but the basic goal is this: Share what you don't need. Find what you do.
Starting at 9am on Sunday, May 17, you can drop off any no-longer-needed, gently used clothing, tools, household items, plants, etc. in the upstairs room of the Mercantile.
We will have tables out and labeled so that we can try to keep everything fairly organized, so please place items in relative proximity to their labeled table. If the weather is nice, we can keep plants on the back porch.
Come and go as you please during our open hours (9am to 6pm) from Sunday, May 16 through Wednesday, May 20 and take what you need. We’ll provide some boxes and bags, but feel free to bring your own too.
Wednesday evening, we’ll pack up what is left and distribute as appropriate between Restore, Foscoe Free Store, and other redistributive non-profits.
Please only bring items that are still in useful condition. If it’s a tool or device that needs to be fixed but could be fairly easily, please leave a note about what is wrong with it.
This is an entirely FREE event. What you leave may be taken by someone else, and what you need is yours to take. The goal is to share what we have but no longer need and to find things we can use.
We will try to share updates about what is generally available throughout the Swap Meet time, but the best way to know what’s there will be to come and see.
