Tonight my family and I went to the drive in theater to see Toy Story 5.
We normally eat around 5:30/6 but I told my kids if they helped clean the house before we left, they could get pizza and snacks at the movie-my kids can eat gluten.
In the rush of getting things around I didn’t make it a point to feed myself dinner, knowing I couldn’t eat anything at the drive in.
We get there and a few hours go by and I’ve become so hungry I decided to pull up the concession menu and see what could possibly be safe for me to eat… at this point anything will do.

Welch’s fruit snacks… also GF
Nachos?? I could go for nachos and they just might be gf…but I have to play 100 questions to find out. 😬🥴
Embarrassing, unsettling, uncomfortable, vulnerable, burdening.. ugh
So I send my husband. He’s always my gluten scout when I don’t want to feel embarrassed and burdening to the poor unsuspecting employees.
He goes to the building and comes out with my order. I was so happy and then came the immediate worry.
Did the packaging actually say gluten free? What if they use shared spoons? What if it’s not in its own dedicated serving area? What if it’s been contaminated? Did the employee actually check or did they just say yes? Do they even actually know what gluten is??
AND THEN my husband says to me “you aren’t going to believe this…”
And proceeds to tell me that the employee at the stand ALSO had celiac disease and helped him make sure all my food was safe!!
Every worry in my head GONE and I could actually
enjoy my food to the fullest feeling safe and trusting that it wasn’t going to hurt me.
But it gets BETTER!
The employee then started to tell my husband about this girl in tiffin who runs a gluten free bakery stand and how good it is- the MATCHA COOKIES are her favorite!!
The employee was recommending MY bake stand to my own husband😭😭😭😭
When I started this business it was simply because I wanted to be the person who brought safety, comfort, trust and happiness to everyone who experiences all of the same fears as I do when it comes to food.
Now, especially after tonight I am realizing you are here for me, just as I am here for you.
I love hearing how my bakery has brought joy and safety to your life- whichever one of you works at the drive in and ensured my safety in return, thank you🩷 come get your matcha cookies, on me 😘
