As my very first season at Orchard Farmers Market comes to a close, I’ve been thinking about just how grateful I am for everyone who stopped by my booth, bought a loaf, grabbed a cookie, tried something new, came back for a favorite, shared a kind word, or simply supported The Perfect Crumb along the way.
Every sale mattered. Every conversation mattered. Every bit of support mattered. 🥹
A huge thank you to AB Market, and especially Brent and Karli Millspaugh, for giving The Perfect Crumb the opportunity to be part of The Orchard this season. From the very beginning, you set me up for success, and I’m incredibly thankful for the encouragement, organization, and wonderful community you created for all of us vendors.
One of my favorite parts of this season was experiencing that sense of community firsthand. I loved getting to know other vendors, meeting wonderful customers, seeing familiar faces return market after market, and having countless conversations about something I love so much: sourdough!
It was especially rewarding to meet people beginning their own sourdough journey or struggling to figure it all out. Being able to share what I’ve learned, answer questions, offer encouragement, and hopefully help someone else find success in their own kitchen was something I truly enjoyed. There’s something special about seeing someone get excited when sourdough finally starts to click. 🍞🤎
And none of those market days would have happened without my family. 🤎 Thank you for being there through the long bake days, late nights, early mornings, loading, unloading, setup, teardown, and everything in between. Your support made every market possible. Maya McCormick (Selburg)
Most of all, thank you to my customers. Whether you purchased from me once or became one of the familiar faces I looked forward to seeing each market, you helped make my first season something I’ll never forget.
I’m walking away incredibly grateful, a whole lot wiser, and already thinking about what I can make even better next year.
